Mitsubishi Outlander Sports Edition Launched in Malaysia - Limited to 120 Units Only /

Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has launched the Mitsubishi Outlander Sports Edition. This special edition of the Outlander Crossover is only limited to 120 units here in Malaysia. It is based on the Outlander 2.0-litre and sports (no pun intended) a two-tone sporty black roof with red metallic paint on the outside and a dual DVD entertainment system as well as red accented carpet mats on the inside.

Simple additions to the Mitsubishi Outlander 2.0 actually, but it does have a more aggressive look to it due to the way the black trimming is applied to the crossover vehicle. The black parts consists of a totally black front grille, glossy black 18 inch alloy rims and an ‘OUTLANDER’ bonnet emblem which seems quite familiar to a certain British brand that does SUVs.

The dual DVD entertainment system consists of a 7-inch HD touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay functionality allows for seamless connection between Apple (iPhone/iPod) and car. The screen comes with Air Gesture Control for added convenience. The Outlander Sports has front parking sensors to complement the rear units. and also a digital video recorder (dashcam) and security/solar film for all windows. Standard equipment also includes all-round monitor, premium leatherette seats, automatic
headlamps and wipers, and keyless entry with push start button.

The Outlander 2.0-litre 4WD is powered by a proven 2.0-litre engine with 145 PS and 196 Nm of torque and it is paired to Mitsubishi's INVECS-III CVT transmission which powers all four wheels. The 4WD system on the Outlander is not an on-demand 4WD system in other similar range of Japanese rivals but more of a permanent style AWD system you find on more sophisticated vehicles out there. The Multi-Select 4WD system in the Outlander has three selectable modes - 4WD Eco, 4WD Auto and 4WD Lock - to suit all conditions and terrain.

Together with all-wheel drive, the Outlander has seven SRS airbags, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, Active Stability & Traction Control (ASTC), Hill Start Assist (HSA) and ISOFIX child seat mounts are standard. The SUV also has Mitsubishi's Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) body construction which has safety when it was designed.

Priced at RM142, 888.00, The Outlander Sports Edition will retail for RM142,888.00 on-the-road without insurance (10% SST inclusive) for Individual Private Owners in Peninsular Malaysia. It also comes with five years unlimited mileage warranty.
