Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) Launches the “Volkswagen Cares” Customer Loyalty Program - Ever Improving Volkswagen's After Sales Experience in Malaysia

Recently Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) launched the “Volkswagen Cares” customer loyalty program. The launch was held at the recent Volkswagen Fest 2018, which saw a whole lot of Volkswagen fans attend the festival over a three day period. This loyalty program actually shows how serious VPCM is in nurturing and uplifting the Volkswagen brand here in Malaysia.

The Volkswagen Cares philosophy is the commitment to care and provide the best for Volkswagen customers. The main thrust of this program is the Volkswagen Cares mobile application. This is an aftersales-led initiative by VPCM using the new platform for the brand to engage with its customers and continuously improve the ownership experience.

The mobile app covers both sales and aftersales of everything Volkswagen. It comes with a list of features related to both sales and aftersales which includes service offers, owner rewards, educational videos and tips event updates, and 24-hours’ roadside assistance. The Volkswagen Cares mobile app is available on both IOS and Android can be downloaded on the App Store and Google Play. Once downloaded, it would make the Volkswagen experience better, according to the folks at VPCM.

Even non-Volkswagen owners are also invited to download the mobile app to access offers, Volkswagen video content, and receive Volkswagen event updates via push notifications. It could even be beneficial to car enthusiasts, who have a fondness towards the brand, but not keen on joining the VW side at the moment. Still, it could be something to pass your time with if you are bored.

According to Erik Winter, Managing Director of VPCM, Volkswagen Cares is more than just a loyalty program.
“Volkswagen Cares applies on all levels, be it to our colleagues, dealer partners and our other stakeholders. And more importantly, it is about how we interact, engage and serve our customers better. Volkswagen is better experienced than explained, and this mobile app was conceptualized with this thought in mind. This mobile app not only makes our services more accessible to our customers, it is also a way for us to appreciate and connect with our loyal customers.” said Erik at the launch.

Ever since VPCM took over the sales and distribution of the brand, almost everything I see is a vast improvement over how the brand was taken care of under Volkswagen Group Malaysia. VPCM, under the Porsche Group seems to better understand customer attitudes and behaviour. It has continued to shape the Volkswagen brand here in a way which is better than before. Prior to this, there were not initiatives that actually push after sales to the forefront. Sales alone does not make a brand last a long time and VPCM actually came in by changing Volkswagen Aftersales here in Malaysia for the better.

This new loyalty program is somewhat of a proof as there is also something called Volkswagen Care Plus (VCP) which actually benefits older Volkswagen vehicles here in Malaysia!

Volkswagen Care Plus (VCP) is an important part of the Volkswagen Cares program. It is an exclusive program for owners with a vehicle 5-years and older.  Owners of older Volkswagen cars can join this special program by making a one-time payment of only RM138.

The membership privileges of VCP include three 20% service discounts vouchers, 2-year extension of Volkswagen’s Roadside Assistance, and a RM100 merchandise voucher. All of these privileges can be viewed and managed within the mobile app. Interested customers can sign up at any authorized Volkswagen dealer to make payment before receiving their membership card.

VPCM is really making an effort. After following the Volkswagen saga for more than 4 years - from the days of VGM, and now to VPCM, I have to say that the Golf has gotten nicer looking (didn't like how chubby the Mk5 was, love the looks of the Mk7.5) , their cars seem to have been fitted with more reliable DSG transmissions and now, I've seen a push for better aftersales over the past year or so. The brand is in the process of being properly fixed folks.
