Proton's Online Booking Platform is Now Operational - You Can Book the Upcoming Proton X70 SUV There Now - Initial Promo includes Low RM99 Booking Fee!

Alright folks, Proton's online booking platform for their vehicles is now online at at 10am today. You can access it via Proton's website or via www.proton.com/ProtonX70 which is the direct link to the first car you can book through it - the upcoming Proton X70 SUV.

Today, at 10am, the 17th of October 2018 is when customers can now book the Proton X70 from anywhere using any device with Internet access. The website mentioned above also has a virtual showroom for you to view the upcoming X70. This online booking site was first announced when the media was previewed the connectivity and technology features of the new X70, where this first ever Proton SUV is featured with a whole lot of tech and connectivity features.

Many sites have covered this and if we did so, we would just be repeating features like a broken record. Those who do not know what a record is are most likely younger than I am and would actually love everything featured in the X70. What the X70 SUV has is basically all the latest connectivity, active safety and technology that you can see in vehicles from what is now Proton's associate company, Volvo Car. You essentially get a lot of equipment and technology that you can get in a Volvo, now inside a Proton. Because it is a Proton, the entry price for all of these technology should be more affordable. So it could be great value for money...we only need to know how much the X70 will be priced for a conclusion though.

Being a connected SUV, the X70 which you can book online comes with an embedded eSIM card, Wi-Fi connectivity, preloaded apps offering services like online radio, online music, navigation and weather forecasts as well as advanced voice recognition software (which you operate by saying 'Hi Proton' at first - eg; "Hi Proton, I am cold", to raise the air-conditioning tempreature). So again, what you can get in a Volvo SUV in terms of connectivity and voice commands, you most likely can get it in the X70 (most likely as it also depends on actual product placement and category). At a more affordable price of course.

Those who want to book a X70 online are required to provide their personal details, preferred model and colour choice as well as the city and state where they wish to collect their car. Following payment of the booking fee, also done online, a system-generated receipt will be sent to the customer’s email.

Proton will then assign a sales advisor to handle the order who will contact the customer within seven days to process the booking. As with bookings made at any Proton outlet, a full refund will be given should a customer change their mind. So there is no real loss to the person whatsoever. Maybe only the time thinking about it.

Anyway, in conjunction with the launch of the online booking portal Proton has featured full details of the Proton X70 on its X70 specific website stated above (I have checked and it does have a lot of details about the SUV). This includes full specifications for each model variant,  colour choice and also a link to the booking portal.

Since this is a new sales platform for Proton, the company is holding a ‘flash sale’ from 17-19 October 2018 to promote the use of this new platform. During the three-day promotional period, customers who book the Proton X70 via the platform only need to pay a very low booking fee of RM99. No 10% for this three days folks!!!

According to Abdul Rashid Musa, CEO of Proton Edar,  the company believes it is the time is right to offer an online booking facility as the platform allows bookings to be made from anywhere a customer is as long as there is an Internet connection available. The Company has also decided to reward those who make a booking prior to the launch of the Proton X70 with the special promo period as well as some form of special gifts for all early birds regardless of whether they booked their unit online or through Proton's sales outlets.

Meanwhile, Proton has also stated that the Proton X70 customer previews have now crossed the South China Sea to East Malaysia with sessions held in Kuching on the 15th and 16th of October. The previews will continue in Kuantan and Ipoh with the final session due to be held in Kota Kinabalu later this month. From the looks of this, it looks like an early November launch folks. But who knows, as they've been previewing it all over for a while already.
