Proton and its dealer Pantai Bharu Corporation Sdn Bhd (“Pantai Bharu”) have opened their latest 3S outlet located along Jalan Kapar, Klang, Selangor. Pantai Bharu previously operated their Proton dealership in Klang in seprate 1S and 2S centres, but the company had decided to invest and integrate their sales and aftersales services into one centre in line with the Proton's latest requirement for improved sales and aftersales centres
.
Dr Li Chunrong, Chief Executive Officer of PROTON, officiated the event, accompanied by Dato’ Radzaif Mohamed, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Abdul Rashid Musa, Vice President of Sales and Marketing and senior management members of PROTON together with the management of Pantai Bahru.
Dato’ Shamshudin Nor, the owner of the Pantai Bharu group of companies is a 32 year veteran in the business had this to say about why the company decided to invest in the multi-million Ringgit centre, “In order to succeed, we need to move with times and stay relevant. The market is fluid, what works today, may not work tomorrow. So the intention to relocate to a new area to provide better customer experience is inevitable."
The impressive looking new 1.67 acre (approx) centre will provide convenience to customers as a one stop centre for sales, service and spare parts as well as being able to conduct in-house training for sales and aftersales. It has 12 service bays, 8 hoists, could accommodate 35 customer seating, 3 delivery bays, and 70 customer parking bays. In addition, there is also a children's play area, a waiting / cafeteria and phone/laptop charging area for customers to sit and relax, as well as free WIFI to keep customers connected at all times.
Dato' Shamshudin further added, “We are positive that with the new and fresh looking facade, better lighting and ambiance for interior and exterior, we will be able to attract more customers to our showroom, hence this will definitely push our sales and service level upwards. We foresee a 100% increase in sales and service throughput with the inception of this outlet upgrade”
After touring the facility personally, I have to say that this is the nicest new Proton 3S centre around. The only really nice ones that I have been to prior to the Geely-Proton tie up are the ones located at Mutiara Damansara and the Centre of Excellence. This one in Klang has the look and feel which is as good as the flagship centres but with its new colour scheme, a light blue rather than a dark blue, actually helps brighten up the area.
Jalan Kapar is an area which is known as an automotive hub for Klang. There are new and used dealerships as well as many automotive industry related businesses like tyre shops, service centres and even used 'half cut shops in the vicinity. The new Proton centre is very visible and could be an area landmark in times to come.
The new centre is quite comfortable to be seated in if you are waiting for a car to be serviced. Hopefully this step in taking Proton's sales and aftersales to a more people-centric level will assist Proton in its turnaround plan. Of course, we have to see a Proton car which Malaysians will buy!
