The New 2018 Model Year Renault Captur is Now Available in Malaysia - Prices Stay the Same At RM109K++ (For the Moment)

The 2018 model year (2018MY) Renault Captur is now on sale in Malaysia. The latest Captur now features a sportier looking exterior with new two-toned colours and an interior further refined for enhanced quality. Still locally assembled, the retail price for the Captur is RM109,000 before insurance but it could be subject to change since the GST will be rated as 0% by 1st July 2018 (so do take note folks).

The new Renault Captur colours offered is the Flame Red (body) / Diamond Black (roof) colour option. So the new Captur is now available in three new body colours: Atacama Orange, Ocean Blue and Pearl White body colours, all paired with a Diamond Black roof.  The Flame Red and Pearl White colours cost an extra RM900 (subject to the GST adjustment) for the Flame Red and Pearl White colour options. This option however also includes kick plates and a trunk tray.

As stated above, the Captur is locally assembled at the Tan Chong Group plant at Segambut. The new Captur is EEV certified and this is why the price for a fully kitted up European compact Crossover is quite reasonable. Powered by Renault’s turbocharged TCe 120 engine, the new Captur is claimed to deliver the performance and acceleration of a normally-aspirated 1.8L engine (and does feel like it when we tested it a while ago).

The 120ps / 190Nm engine is paired to a six-speed Efficient Dual Clutch (EDC) transmission, which powers the front wheels of this compact crossover. Fuel efficiency of up to 5.4L/100km[1] can be achieved.

Kuan Kim Luen, CEO, TC Euro Cars Sdn Bhd, who are the official distributors of Renault in Malaysia. when asked about the new 2018 Captur said, “With its trendy styling and chic new colours, powerful performance and excellent fuel efficiency, plus its continental quality and safety standards, we believe the new Captur will continue have great appeal, especially for those with active urban lifestyles,”

“We strive to offer our customers a quality aftersales experience. In addition to the 5-in-Captur service commitment, we also have an established parts supply system that ensures consistent parts availability. Customers can have peace of mind when choosing Renault, knowing that we have them covered,” added Kuan.

If any of you are interested in viewing the new Renault Captur, the car is on showcase from today to 20 May 2018 at the East Atrium, in Mid Valley Megamall. It is also on display and available for test drives at all Renault showroom starting today.
