Subaru Price Protection Scheme Extends Until 100th Day – 18th August 2018

The recent change of the ruling political party here in Malaysia has some upcoming implications to the prices of cars here. Right now, in view of the impending changes to the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and return to the older Sales and Services Tax (SST) as promised by the new people in charge of the country, TC Subaru Sdn Bhd, who are the official distributors of Subaru in Malaysia has announced its special Price Protection Scheme to provide assurance to all customers against price movement of all Subaru vehicle bookings.

What this basically means is that unregistered as well as new bookings of all Subaru vehicle models will be price protected from now till18th August 2018. In the event of upward price movement before registration of any booked vehicle due to changes in tax regimen, TC Subaru Sdn Bhd will honour the original, lower price if prices climb upwards due to the change.

However, in the event of a downward price movement, the customer will receive service vouchers equal in value to the price difference (up to a limit of RM3,000). For example, if a vehicle’s price is reduced by RM1,000 after the change in applicable taxes, it shall be traded into a service voucher worth RM1,000.

For unregistered bookings, should later prevailing prices drop at registration because of the change from GST to SST, the booking price will be adjusted correspondingly i.e if the booking price was RM100,000 and the prevailing price at registration is RM99,000, the lower price of RM99,000 shall apply.

TC Subaru Sdn Bhd has announced that they have extended this Price Protection Scheme to all bookings made from now until 18th August 2018.
