Industry Update: Sime Darby Sees Positive Signs From Its Automotive Arm Due to Government Initiatives


Sime Darby's retail and distribution arm, especially its automotive division Sime Darby Motors, has reported that the Pelan Jana Semula Ekonomi (PENJANA) economic stimulus package aimed at propelling Malaysia’s economic recovery post COVID-19 lockdown, Sime Darby Motors, is helping things out for them. According to their latest news release, they are experiencing an increase in demand for its vehicles and is appreciative to the Malaysian government on this initiative. Indeed, the Total Industry Volume (TIV) sales of the automotive industry has seen its May 2020 sales numbers rise to 22,000 units registered froma measly 150 over units registered in the month of April 2020. The relax in the Movement Control Order  (MCO) regulations has allowed businesses to recover, albeit to about 65% of its pre-MCO days.

Peugeot in Malaysia Now Has an E-Showroom for Better Customer Interaction - Plus Offers and Other Promos


Nasim Sdn Bhd, the official distributor for the Peugeot brand in Malaysia, recently announced the launch of an e-showroom. Hyundai Sime Darby Revises Pricing for 2020 Model Year Vehicles - Valid Till 31 December 2020


Following the Prime Minister’s announcement on 100% sales tax exemption on new CKD cars and 50% exemption for CBU models until the end of the year, Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors has revised the price list which is applicable only to 2020 models. Do take note on this detail folks.

The 5th Generation Toyota RAV4 Has Been Launched with Prices Starting at RM196K Onwards



UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT), the official distributor of Toyota vehicles in Malaysia has officially launched the fifth generation Toyota RAV4 SUV. The fully imported 2020 RAV4 you see in the images here is a continuation of the original and ground-breaking RAV4 SUV (Sport Utility Vehicle) which was first introduced in the mid-1990s. It offered practicality and yet possessed the comfort and handling of a passenger car. It was an immediate success and created a new category in the automobile market. The 2020 Toyota RAV4 Now Open For Pre-Launch Booking


UMW Toyota Motor recently announced the order taking for the much awaited 2019 Japan Car of the Year, the All-New Toyota RAV4 from 10 June 2020 onwards. The sporty looking SUV is scheduled to be launched here in Malaysia within a day to two from the date of this article. UMW Toyota have already announced the price for this SUV and being fully imported, it will be priced from RM223,880 onwards.

Malaysia Autoshow 2020 Postpone to 2021


The Malaysia Autoshow 2020, which was scheduled to occur in July 2020 at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) will now been postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 outbreak and the measures that were implemented to contain it.  The annual autoshow is organised by the Malaysia Automotive, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii), and it will skip a whole year and only be scheduled for April 2021 but with the proviso that it is subject to the developments of the COVID-19 throughout this year and even 2021 from what we hear.

Isuzu Malaysia Introduces Loan Moratorium For its Loyal Customers


Isuzu Malaysia have announced that potential Isuzu D-Max customers will by offering a moratorium or deferment of sorts for financing payments on new Isuzu vehicles purchased from 1 June 2020 till 31 August 2020. Called the Isuzu Deferred Installment Campaign, this can be said to be the first programme of its kind in the pick-up segment where customers can defer their loan payments for up to half a year.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Latest Passenger Car Prices Effective June 2020 to 31 December 2020


Here is Mercedes-Benz Malaysia's update on passenger car prices following the announcement of the Malaysian government's new economic stimulus plan to stimulate the economy amidst the COVID-19 crisis. The initiative to assist the automotive industry includes 100% sales tax exemption for locally-assembled vehicles and a 50% reduction for fully-imported models from 15 th June 2020 until the end of the tax free incentive period. PROTON Announces Price Reduction of 1.2% to 5.7% for Their Vehicle Models - UPDATED With Price List


In line with the Malaysian government’s recent announcement of zero sales tax (0%SST) for cars sold in Malaysia for a six month period beginning 15 June 2020 to 31 December 2020, PROTON will reduce its car prices by 1.2% - 5.7%. The new reduction in prices reflect the zero SST incentive which is a measure implemented by the Malaysian government to try boost the economy as the country emerges from its COVID-19 induced lockdown. 

Latest Mitsubishi ASX and Outlander Prices from Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia Effective 15 June to 31 December 2020

New Volkswagen Prices Effective 15 June 2020 to 31 December 2020 For Malaysia



Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) have announced a reduction on the prices of its models of up to RM9,484, following the announcement on the sales tax exemption. HINO Poncho Minibus Starts New Trial Route in Johor Bahru - Operated by Handal Indah Sdn Bhd


The HINO Poncho 7 meter minibus is starting a trial run within Johor Bahru. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) had been recently entered into between Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (Hino Malaysia) and Handal Indah Sdn Bhd (Handal Indah) to start a trial run of a low-floor mini bus in Johor Bahru. The Poncho, is a cute looking, low floor minibus that will be plying Route 10B, which is the route that travels along Johor Bahru City, Pelangi, Sentosa, Pandan, Taman Daya and Taman Setia Indah. It will be almost a one month trial which begins today, the 15th of June to the 12th of July 2020.
