The Two variants offered are the Elegance (1.5-litre eTSI MHEV) and sporty R- Line (2.0-litre TSI turbocharged engine). The Tayron Elegance retails from RM189,890 while the Tayron R-Line is estimated to ranges from RM259,000 – RM269,000. Both are CKD Pekan, Pahang. The Elegance variant is currently available while the sportier R-Line isn't at launch date.

Being a Volkswagen designed for space and size as well as the latest in tech, as this was originally one of the global vehicles that is based on Volkswagen China joint ventures, it is fully equipped (as well as it being a Malaysia specific product which is usually high specified. The Elegance and R-Line will be offered with a12.9-inch Discover infotainment system and 15-inch Discover Pro Max infotainment system respectively. Both also come with the 7 speed DSG or dual clutch transmission - with front wheel drive for the Elegance and All Wheel Drive for the R-Line, for that recognisable Volkswagen style drive.

The official press release and more details are down below. From what I've seen, this seems a little larger than the Tiguan AllSpace and has more curves than the more squarish Tiguan. Why the new name? Well, the TIguan is still being sold as a Tiguan in most markets but the AllSpace seems to use this new name. Nothing to be concerned here folks. You're still getting a Volkswagen.

With ACTplus, two of the engine’s four cylinders switch off as often as
possible, depending on the operating situation at low and medium loads and
speeds. Efficiency increases in the active cylinders, while the passive
cylinders run almost loss-free.
The additional power of the 48-volt system acts like a booster, optimising
the drive-off performance of the eTSI engine. The electrical energy used is
recovered via recuperation harvested during deceleration and braking. At
the same time, the energy stored in the battery enables the engine to be
switched off at times and thus allows coasting, together delivering excellent
