Earlier today, I attended Mercedes-Benz Malaysia preview of four new higher end of their range vehicles at its Luxury Showcase event held at NZ Wheels in the upper scale Bangsar/Telawi area. The Dream Cars showcase is actually on from the 3 rd to 7 th of April 2024 at NZ Wheels Bangsar. The showcase offers customers a unique and exclusive Mercedes-Benz experience, complete with test drive opportunities of many Mercedes-Benz dream cars (we saw the latest SL parked outside as an example). You can see the highest-quality Mercedes-Benz craftsmanship, quality, sophistication, and the ultimate driving experience.

A new retail experience for you if you want to purchase a new Mercedes-Benz passenger car folks. Mercedes-Benz Malaysia today launches the all-new Mercedes-Benz GLC - Only one fully imported variant for now, the GLC 300 AMG Line

The new Mercedes-Benz GLC has come to Malaysia. At the moment only one variant of the GLC luxury SUV has been launched -The GLC 300 4MATIC in CBU or fully imported form unit is now available as a mild hybrid with 48-volt technology and a second-generation integrated starter- generator. This single variant will be offered for the moment and will cost RM429,888 on the road before insurance.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Enters Into a MOU with Montfort Boys Town to Strengthen its Advanced Modern Apprenticeship Programme

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia earlier today entered into a two year long Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Montfort Boys Town to cultivate and develop local young talent for its Advanced Modern Apprenticeship programme. Here, students from Montfort Boys Town who successfully pass the annual pre-enrolment assessment will receive a full scholarship and have a passport to the Mercedes-Benz Advanced Modern Apprenticeship Programme.

The new 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 e 4MATIC Coupé and refreshed 2022 Mercedes- AMG GLB 35 4MATIC now Available in Malaysia

During the official opening event of the Mercedes-Benz Setia Alam Autohaus, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia also announced the availability of two model updates in its SUV line; the new locally-assembled (CKD) Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 e 4MATIC Coupé as well as the Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 4MATIC (below), now enhanced with new vehicle equipment upgrades.

The W206 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is Available in Fully Imported C200 Avantgarde and C300 AMG-Line Forms for the Moment - The C-Class Gets Larger...and larger.

This news is a little late due to the fact that I actually had some things to do and that my kid is finally sitting for her SPM papers. Being a somewhat dedicated father, as well as other commitments, this has taken priority. And the fact that I am essentially semi-retired these days.... Anyway, yes, Mercedes-Benz has launched the all new W206 generation of C-Class sedans in fully imported form for the moment with the locally assembled variants coming in later. We now get the C200 AV or Avantgarde and the C300 AMG-Line for now at around RM288K and RM330K respectively. Still quite decent prices for what is offered, although the C200 is now back to a 1.5liter turbocharged engine (with some electric motor boost) and the C300 comes with the 2.0liter turbocharged engine.

The W223 Mercedes-Benz S-class Debuts in Malaysia - The S580e Plugin Hybrid Offered

The new W223 S-class has made its Malaysian debut. This is an evolution of the already innovative W222 model and adds even more connectivity, interior space and safety. Malaysia gets a locally assembled long wheelbase Mercedes-Benz S 580 e new generation of plug-in hybrid that offers customers the best of both worlds where it can be driven on battery power alone and on the combustion engine when on a long journey. The launch event was held at St Regis Kuala Lumpur with the only detail lacking is the price, which has not been finalised. 

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is Conducting a Safety Recall For Some Models from 2004 to 2016 Equipped with Takata Airbags

Takata Airbags have stuck again. This time with passenger car models sold by Mercedes-Benz Malaysia produced between 2004 ad 2016. It seems to be never ending with everything made by Takata during a certain period of time. It also shows human greed and the fact that beneath the polished surface of some large companies, there lies groups of unscrupulous management teams that care only about profits rather than the lives of the people using their products. Another one that comes to mind is Boeing with that 737 Max debacle that also cost many lives. Takata is no exception with deaths related to it involving other brands even here in Malaysia. 

So if you have a Mercedes-Benz including the 169 (A-Class), 203, 204 (C-Class), X204 (GLK), 207 (E-Coupé/ Convertible), 212 (E-Class), 164 (ML- and GL-Class),251 (R-Class), 171 (SLK), 197 (SLS AMG) from production period 2004 - 2016, these are those mainly affected. 

Hap Seng Star Launches the Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer - A 10 Seater MPV with a Premium Badge

 

Hap Seng Star Sdn Bhd, one of the largest authorised dealer of Mercedes-Benz in Malaysia have announced the availability of the new Mercedes-Benz Vito Tourer at all Hap Seng Star dealerships in Malaysia. This is a 10 seater people carrier and the reason why you do not see this at other (non-Hap Seng Star) dealership is that the Vito, unlike the similar V-Class MPV is a vehicle under Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicles and not a Mercedes-Benz Passenger Car division vehicle. 

Mercedes-Benz to Have New Regional Parts Distribution Centre in Johor - Estimated to Begin Operations in 2024

Mercedes-Benz recently announced that they have finalized the plans for a regional After-Sales Logistics Centre in Malaysia. The new centre will be located at Senai Airport City - Johor Bahru where Mercedes-Benz has signed a long-term lease agreement for the location. Operations are planned for the beginning of 2024 withTiong Nam Logistics Solutions Sdn Bhd.named as the lead developer of the project. This is definitely good news in terms of investments into Malaysia especially in terms of putting more jobs on the table for Malaysians coming out of pandemic lockdowns.

Locally Assembled 2020 Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 4MATIC Coupe Launched - Priced at RM 498,722.77

Okay, Mercedes-AMG are not calling the GLC 43 4MATIC Coupe just a SUV, but an AMG. They can call it whatever they want as it is an AMG in terms of this GLC variant! With its AMG tweaked Mercedes-Benz 3.0-litre V6 biturbo engine it makes 287 kW (390 hp) with a more than adequate 520m of torque is allows this performance GLC variant to hit 100kmh from a standstill in 4.9seconds.

The 2020 Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 4MATIC is now available in Malaysia for RM363K onwards

A few days ago, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia launched the new Mercedes-AMG GLB 35 4MATIC. This is their slightly larger than the GLA-series SUV but smaller than the GLC-series SUV model of SUV. So many SUVs there. Anyway, this new compact SUV is a little larger than the A-class derived GLA so it may suit a lot more people out there. Anyway, this will come in this AMG specified variant (as well as Mercedes-Benz GLB 200, 250 variants) and could be very good to those that find the GLA 35 a tad too basic for their liking....if there ever was such a thing.

Enhanced 2020 Mercedes-Benz C 200 Coupé AMG Line Now Available in Malaysia

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has introduced the enhanced for 2020 Mercedes-Benz C 200 Coupé AMG Line for the Malaysian market. This new model comes with a new 2.0-litre 4-cylinder Turbocharged engine as well as better equipment inside. It now comes with the current Mercedes me Connect (Mmc) which offers better connectivity between the car and the driver as well as that nicer looking graphics on the infotainment screen.

Hap Seng Trucks Distribution Sdn Bhd, the official distributor for Daimler Trucks in Malaysia has just launched the latest generation Mercedes-Benz Actros truck or prime mover. There are many variants and options but the base vehicles are 4x2, 6x2 and 6x4 prime mover trucks which can be configured with various equipment levels. Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Latest Passenger Car Prices Effective June 2020 to 31 December 2020

Here is Mercedes-Benz Malaysia's update on passenger car prices following the announcement of the Malaysian government's new economic stimulus plan to stimulate the economy amidst the COVID-19 crisis. The initiative to assist the automotive industry includes 100% sales tax exemption for locally-assembled vehicles and a 50% reduction for fully-imported models from 15 th June 2020 until the end of the tax free incentive period. Since Mercedes-Benz Malaysia has a large local assembly catalouge as well as an equally large fully imported line-up here as well as loyal customers, many would like know how much would a new Mercedes-Benz cost.
