Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Enters Into a MOU with Montfort Boys Town to Strengthen its Advanced Modern Apprenticeship Programme

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia earlier today entered into a two year long Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Montfort Boys Town to cultivate and develop local young talent for its Advanced Modern Apprenticeship programme. Here, students from Montfort Boys Town who successfully pass the annual pre-enrolment assessment will receive a full scholarship and have a passport to the Mercedes-Benz Advanced Modern Apprenticeship Programme.

Basically the program held at Montfort, provided by Mercedes-Benz Malaysia will start with activities such as ‘Train the Trainer’ where Mercedes-Benz Malaysia will provide technical skills and expertise training on current Mercedes-Benz models to the Montfort Boys Town trainers who will then transfer the knowledge and skills to the students.

This training curriculum aims to expose and prepare interested students to the Advanced Modern Apprenticeship programme that is available upon their secondary school completion. An annual pre-enrolment assessment will be conducted for the students of Montfort Boys Townwhere those who successfully pass will be able to apply for the Advanced Modern Apprenticeship programme.

If they make it all the way, these lucky students/future technicians are guaranteed a job within the Mercedes-Benz dealer network and moving on up in the world. The reason I say this is that Montfort located in Shah Alam, Selangor is a learning institution dedicated to helping underprivileged youths grow in a positive and stimulating environment.

Montfort provides academically and financially challenged youths the opportunity to equip themselves with the right skills and guide them in recognising their talents. We do this by providing practical vocational training and quality living skills, to empower them with the confidence to live a successful and positive life.

So this is basically a part of Mercedes-Benz Malaysia's CSR where they give back to the society of the country they sell and market their products in and of course, in this case, this effort in training the underprivileged children with allow them to have a more talents that will undertake to service and maintain the cars that Mercedes-Benz sells. A pool of talent for the future one might say.

Also held later at the event was the Advanced Modern Apprenticeship Programme Graduation for the class of 2021 and 2022 where a total of 99 trainees completed their training and are now globally certified technicians. The Best Student Award was presented to two students who excelled in every aspect over the three-year course which includes punctuality, work efficiency, proper use of tools, knowledge, safety consciousness, behaviour, interpersonal skills, work attitude and responsibility in their respective years.
