The 2024 Mercedes-Benz C 350 e Plug-in Hybrid is the new C-Class range topper here in Malaysia. Prices estimated to start at RM355k

Yesterday, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia unveiled the latest variant of the best-selling Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan for the Malaysian market. This one is the new range topper here, the 2024 (W206) Mercedes-Benz C350e Plug-in Hybrid with the AMG-Line trim. The new luxury compact sedan is locally assembled at the Mercedes-Benz production plant in Pekan, Pahang. The C 350 e Plug-in Hybrid combines a 95kw electric motor with a traditional 2.0liter petrol engine for enhanced efficiency. It replaces the previous range topper, the conventional petrol powered C300 AMG line, and is estimated to come in at around RM355,000 before any insurance. 

The W206 Mercedes-Benz C-Class is Available in Fully Imported C200 Avantgarde and C300 AMG-Line Forms for the Moment - The C-Class Gets Larger...and larger.

This news is a little late due to the fact that I actually had some things to do and that my kid is finally sitting for her SPM papers. Being a somewhat dedicated father, as well as other commitments, this has taken priority. And the fact that I am essentially semi-retired these days.... Anyway, yes, Mercedes-Benz has launched the all new W206 generation of C-Class sedans in fully imported form for the moment with the locally assembled variants coming in later. We now get the C200 AV or Avantgarde and the C300 AMG-Line for now at around RM288K and RM330K respectively. Still quite decent prices for what is offered, although the C200 is now back to a 1.5liter turbocharged engine (with some electric motor boost) and the C300 comes with the 2.0liter turbocharged engine.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia is Conducting a Safety Recall For Some Models from 2004 to 2016 Equipped with Takata Airbags

Takata Airbags have stuck again. This time with passenger car models sold by Mercedes-Benz Malaysia produced between 2004 ad 2016. It seems to be never ending with everything made by Takata during a certain period of time. It also shows human greed and the fact that beneath the polished surface of some large companies, there lies groups of unscrupulous management teams that care only about profits rather than the lives of the people using their products. Another one that comes to mind is Boeing with that 737 Max debacle that also cost many lives. Takata is no exception with deaths related to it involving other brands even here in Malaysia. 

So if you have a Mercedes-Benz including the 169 (A-Class), 203, 204 (C-Class), X204 (GLK), 207 (E-Coupé/ Convertible), 212 (E-Class), 164 (ML- and GL-Class),251 (R-Class), 171 (SLK), 197 (SLS AMG) from production period 2004 - 2016, these are those mainly affected.

The New, Facelifted Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe Launched in Malaysia - A Day After the Launch of the C-Class Sedan!

And so....a day after the launch of the facelifted Mercedes-Benz C-Class Sedan, Mercedes-Benz Malaysia decided to launch the new, facelifted C-Class Coupe over at Cameron Highlands. This was during the media drive of the C-Class Sedan and I was fortunate enough to witness this event last Friday, 2nd November 2018. The new C-Class Coupe range for Malaysia consists of the Mercedes-Benz C 200 Coupé and C 300 Coupé. These, are fully imported however.

The New, Facelifted, Very Much Improved Mercedes-Benz C-Class Has Been Launched - C200 Avantgarde, C300 AMG-Line & C43 AMG Locally Assembled Variants Now On Sale

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia had introduced the new facelifted Mercedes-Benz C-Class on the 1st of November 2018. It essentially updates the already very competent, and polished premium sedan with a little bit more and adds some design tweaks, state-of-the-art safety and assistance systems, superior technology and also adds tweaks for better driving dynamics than the pre-facelifted one. At the launch, Malaysia will have three variants which are all locally assembled - the C200 Avantgarde Line (seen below), C300 AMG-Line and the Mercedes-AMG C43.

All-New Mercedes Benz C-Class Coupe photos previewed

The official global launch (somewhere in Europe most probably) will be in September 2015.The all-new 2017 (model year) Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe is modern luxury manifested. Its soulful design echoes the agile driving dynamics made possible by advanced lightweight construction and standard sport suspension. The new C-Class Coupe will hit European and U.S. dealerships by spring of 2016.

Mercedes Benz launches new base petrol C160,new C300 as well as new C200 4Matic models

In a nutshell, Mercedes Benz have launched new W205 C-class models over in Europe. What's interesting are the petrol versions for us here in Malaysia and those without the all-wheel drive setup. This is what MB Malaysia could bring in the near future for us here.

C160 - 1.6liter turbocharged petrol engine with 129hp, 210Nm. 0-100kmh in 9.6seconds coupled to either a 6 speed manual or a 7 speed automatic. This sits below the C180 with the same engine but a higher state of tune. Bring this or the C180 in MB Malaysia. Even if the prices clash with the CLA200. Why deprive Malaysians of base models that help us save some cash yet still have some luxury.

2014 Mercedes Benz W205 C-class

Not going to add anything more than that it is bigger than the earlier W204 and like previous C-classes, apes the current S-class. Mercedes Benz has actually moved the goalposts (larger interior, exterior, materials used, construction, equipment etc) for the compact executive sedan category with this car in my opinion.
