Mercedes-Benz Malaysia unveils the new Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC, the new Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC, the all-new Mercedes-AMG S 63 E PERFORMANCE & the new Mercedes-Benz CLE 300 4MATIC Coupé

Earlier today, I attended Mercedes-Benz Malaysia preview of four new higher end of their range vehicles at its Luxury Showcase event held at NZ Wheels in the upper scale Bangsar/Telawi area. The Dream Cars showcase is actually on from the 3 rd to 7 th of April 2024 at NZ Wheels Bangsar. The showcase offers customers a unique and exclusive Mercedes-Benz experience, complete with test drive opportunities of many Mercedes-Benz dream cars (we saw the latest SL parked outside as an example). You can see the highest-quality Mercedes-Benz craftsmanship, quality, sophistication, and the ultimate driving experience.

Anyway, the luxury brand introduced two new SUVs, first is the new Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC - the best of the GLS with the added exclusivity of Maybach, making it the ultimate epitome of what luxury should be. This is seriously opulent. It does seem to look and feel like it sits above the regular GLS series SUV. I especially like the additional Maybach badging used liberally in the left and right sides of the front bumper. Whimsical, cute and somehow totally in character with what the Maybach brand represents.

The Mercedes-Maybach SUV, fit for captains of the industries can be had from From RM 1,918,888.00. You can spec it out with its own customised set of champagne flutes and a wine cooler, so this is just a nice reference point for those of you who can, and want to do so.

They also unveiled the refreshed Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC - this features a range of design, technology, and equipment changes, taking comfort, connectivity, and ambience to the next level as well as even more striking radiator grille and refreshed rear lights featuring an interior with three horizontal blocks. Instead of the 4 seater Mercedes-Maybach, this has 7 seats so the family can come together in S-Class luxury. 

This comes in at RM 999,888.00.

Next, they introduced the all-new Mercedes-AMG S 63 E PERFORMANCE. This offers best-in-class performance and outstanding comfort. The combination of the AMG 4.0 litre V8 biturbo engine with the AMG-specific hybrid drivetrain enables an acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.3 seconds. This is basically the S-Class for those that need the extra poke and performance, and AMG cachet. It looks good in that matte colour on the display car. This could be the last chance to buy a petrol powered big CC AMG with all the talk about car brands going electric or downsizing. The last chance to buy a legendary V8 that sounds like the heavens have suddenly opened up.

The S63 E PERFORMANCE can be yours from RM 2,118,888.00 onwards.

Finally, they specially previewed the new Mercedes-Benz CLE 300 4MATIC Coupé. This  has set a new benchmark in Malaysia as the first Mercedes-Benz model to feature the cutting-edge DIGITAL LIGHT with projection function, taking driving experience to a whole new level of innovation and sophistication. This is the first time the new coupe, which actually replaces both the C-Class Coupe and the E-Class coupe models with one model. The car is based on C-Class underpinnings but is as large as the outgoing E-Class coupe. It is actually wider than the E-Coupe and as long. It has more shoulder room than the E-Coupe and definitely more legroom at the rear also. A mix, but brings in the best of both models. What it misses out are the lack of frameless B-pillars like the E-Coupe, but looks like a bigger C-Coupe. One model replaces two. 

It is estimated to be priced at around RM526,000 onwards.

Also present at the Luxury showcase is the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE, which made its local debut last year, is the most powerful production model to date bearing the Mercedes-AMG badge thanks to technology transfer from Formula 1™.

The 'F1 Edition'; can be recognised at first glance by the paintwork. It is an exclusive combination of the paintwork in non-metallic MANUFAKTUR alpine grey and the foiling with AMG logo and colour gradient from grey to black as well as the red colour accents. The 21-inch AMG forged wheels in the 5-twin-spoke design, black matt finish, with red rim flange, follow the colour scheme of the wheels of the Official FIA F1 Medical Car™ from Mercedes-AMG. 

The performance vehicle features AMG Aerodynamics package, AMG Exterior Carbon-Fibre package II, AMG Exterior Night package, AMG Night Package II, and AMG DYNAMIC PLUS package. MULTIBEAM LED, rear-axle steering, panoramic sunroof, and power closing are also included.

The new Mercedes-Maybach GLS 600 4MATIC combines the strengths of the GLS with the highly attractive exclusivity of Maybach, and as such is the epitome of ultimate luxury. Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC

As the S-Class of the SUVs, the new Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 4MATIC continues to set new standards as a large luxury SUV. Its slightly refreshed exterior design exudes powerful, dynamic elegance and the interior offers sheer luxury in the spacious rear. The vehicle can be recognised by the even more striking radiator grille. The four louvres are galvanised in high-quality Silver Shadow. The eye-catcher at the rear is the interior of the lights with three horizontal blocks. The AMG line exterior features 22-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels, and aluminium-look, illuminated running boards with rubber studs. In addition, the vehicle includes MAGIC VISION CONTROL, power closing, ambient lighting with projection of brand logo, MULTIBEAM LED, and panoramic sliding sunroof. Equipped in the GLS are the AIRMATIC Package and GUARD 360° Vehicle protection Plus.

As before, the Mercedes-Benz GLS is a seven-seater with multicontour rear seats featuring rough leather/leather upholstery. The brown open-pore walnut wood trim, multifunction sports steering wheel in nappa leather, air vents in chrome slats, and Exclusive trim Package further elevate the luxurious feel of the cabin. 

For an added level of comfort, THERMOTRONIC automatic climate control in the rear enables all passengers to enjoy their desired feel-good climate. The GLS includes the latest generation of MBUX, MBUX High-End Rear Seat Entertainment System, Burmester® surround sound system, ENERGIZING AIR CONTROL, Premium Plus Package, and Driving Assistance Package. Mercedes-AMG S 63 E PERFORMANCE

The Mercedes-AMG S 63 E PERFORMANCE sets the benchmark in its segment: It combines the AMG 4.0 litre V8 biturbo engine with the AMG high-performance battery (HPB).

With a total system output of 590 kW (802 PS) and 1430 Nm of torque, this full-sized luxury sedan achieves an acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 290 km/h.

With standard features such as AMG RIDE CONTROL+ air suspension, AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL roll stabilization and active rear-axle steering ensure that the AMG S 63 confidently combines a dynamic driving experience with the utmost in comfort.

The vehicle is equipped with 21-inch AMG cross-spoke forged wheels, AMG high-performance ceramic composite braking system, AMG Active Ride Control and DIGITAL LIGHT. Mercedes-Benz CLE 300 4MATIC Coupé

The new Mercedes-Benz CLE 300 4MATIC Coupé embodies an emotional statement from every perspective. The sporty, elegant two-door unites proportions typical of a coupé with the modern design language of Mercedes-Benz, whose aesthetic soul is shaped by the design philosophy of Sensual Purity. The CLE Coupé is the first Mercedes-Benz model in Malaysia to feature DIGITAL LIGHT with projection function. The AMG Line exterior with Night Package includes sporty, expressive design elements in high-gloss black - from the radiator grille to the 19-inch AMG multi-spoke light-alloy wheels.
