GOOD NEWS! Due to a demand from Ford Raptor fans in Malaysia for a smaller engine capacity Raptor the Next-Generation Ranger Raptor in 2.0-litre Bi-Turbo Diesel engine for will be made available soon. Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC), the sole distributor for Ford in Malaysia, announced earlier today that the Next-Generation Ranger Raptor 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel will be available starting 8 June 2023. While the Next-Gen Raptor was launched in Malaysia recently, it only came with a larger 3.0liter petrol turbo powered engine. With Malaysia being a country where engine capacity is taxed on how large the size is, a 2.0liter variant was always demanded by most people.
The new 2023 2.0liter turbodiesel Raptor is built on the success of the previous-generation 2.0L Ranger Raptor with a power output of up to 210 PS and 500 Nm of torque from 1,750 rpm, the Next-Generation Ranger Raptor2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel offers an additional engine of choice that Malaysian customers and consumers are looking for. Give the customers what they want and they will buy...so they say. Note that the 3.0liter petrol variant makes 397 PS and 583Nm torque. So you do lose some horses but most importantly, you do not lose that much torque. Do note that the smaller, more compact 4 cylinder diesel may even be slightly lighter in the nose as it has 2 less cylinders up front.
As with its 3.0-litre twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 counterpart that was launched last year, the Next-Gen Ranger Raptor 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel comes with similar exterior and interior styling, integrated technologies, and advanced safety features, in addition to the enhanced capabilities and upgraded components of Ford’s next-level innovations.
Basically SDAC says that aside from the engine, there are no major differences. Looks like win for me.

Weare responding by adding the formidable, tried and tested 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel enginevariant to offer another ownership option for Raptor lovers and other high-speed off-roading enthusiasts,” said Turse Zuhair, Managing Director of Sime Darby Auto ConneXion-Ford.

In conjunction with its launch, the first 300 bookings of the Next-Gen Ranger Raptor Bi-Turbo 2.0L Diesel will come specially fitted with the Kenwood DRV-A700W dashcam system, which features a Wide-Quad HD (WQHD, 3.7MP) front camera and Full HD (FHD,1080p) rear camera for dual-channel recording. It is equipped with a three-axis G-Sensordesigned to detect a collision. The system also comes with a built-in wireless smartphone link for easy management of recorded videos and dashcam settings. The built-in GPSreceiver automatically records driving information and location tracking, while the polarised filter allows for more vivid and clearer images.
Designed and engineered as the ultimate Ranger model with Ford’s Performance DNA at its core, the Ranger Raptor has exceeded expectations, setting new benchmarks as the only factory-built performance truck for high-speed off-roading.
The latest milestone is the Next-Gen Ranger Raptor’s successful completion of last year’sgruelling SCORE International Baja 1000 in Mexico – one of the toughest off-road endurance races in the world. The Raptor used in the race was from the production line of the same factory in Thailand that builds all the Next-Gen Ford Rangers and Raptors seen on the road.
