4WD Courses for Ford Ranger and Raptor owners offer the opportunity to learn the basic techniques of proper off-road driving - Sign up now for available slots

Ford Ranger or Ranger Raptor owners who are looking to gain new 4x4 driving skills and discover the true potential of their capable pickup trucks can register for two upcoming Ford Ranger Getaways training experiences. The first training session will be held at the M4TREC Beginner 4WD Course in Semenyih, Selangor on 26 August 2023. The second session will be conducted at the Sar4Trac Beginner4WD Course in Kampung Barieng, Bau, Sarawak on 16 September 2023. 

These programs are suitable for owners new to 4x4 driving and are eager to gain proper off-roading skills..The beginner-level 4WD courses aim to provide participants with the necessary knowledge and basic techniques of safe off-roading. These sessions are part of this year’s Ford Ranger Getaways – a first and only in-segment adventure-based e-commerce platform created to offer customers enhanced ownership experiences. Sime Darby Auto Connexion, the official dealers for Ford vehicles here in Malaysia are indeed keen to ensure that the ownership experience for Ranger owners is fruitful and different from just buying and servicing the truck.

Both the M4TREC and Sar4Trac centres are purpose-built facilities designed to offer a safe and controlled environment for learning and experiencing the basic techniques of off-road driving. Courses will be conducted by the centres’ teams of HRDF-certified professional instructors who are themselves expert off-roaders.

Participants will also gain in-depth familiarity with their vehicle to uncover the full capabilities of their Rangers and Ranger Raptors while networking with other owners and like-minded individuals. They are also welcome to bring along a companion.

Both training sessions will begin with an in-depth briefing on safety, the basics of 4x4 driving and the obstacle courses.Under the close guidance and supervision of the instructors, participants will then put to practice the basic techniques for tackling various obstacles in the hands-on session.

At M4TREC, obstacles include Dirt Track, Roller Ramp, Frame Twister, Ridge Crossing / Slide Slope, Mud & Ruts, Rutted Track, Ditch, Hill Descend, Hill Ascend and Mud Dash.

Those who attend the course at Sar4Trac will tackle obstacles at the Ngirobuh banana plantation, which include Dirt Track, Frame Twister, Mud & Gravel, Rutted Track, Ditch, Hill Ascent, Hill Descent and Water Wading.

The courses are priced at RM498 per person, with a maximum of two participants per vehicle. Next-Generation Ranger and Ranger Raptor owners who have not utilised their Inner Circle privilege card code can redeem their 30 percent discount on this training experience. Early bird owners of the Next-Gen Ranger Raptor 2.0L Bi-Turbo Diesel are encouraged to redeem their Getaways discount before it expires in June 2024.
