Proton Allocates 50 Units of the Proton X70 SUV to the Ministry of Health to Assist Mobility During the COVID-19 Movement Control Order Period

What can a car manufacturer do to support the fight against the totally nasty COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak? Well, they can send some cars to help the front line personnel in carrying out their duties of course. PROTON, the Malaysian car manufacturer that is currently on a rennaissance of sorts in terms of its image has allocated 50 units of the Proton X70 SUV to the Malaysian Ministry of Health which will be used primarily to ferry medical personnel to and from work (as public transport may affect them during the Movement Contol Order period we are currently facing.

This would help alleviate some stress and pressure on these front-line personnel who have to take care of the number of COVID-19 patients as well as those who are ill but also affected due to the lack of caretakers. They may also face transport problems as the Movement Control Order does limit public transport after their shift ends or they may be too exhausted to drive themselves home after their shift.

The Proton X70 SUVs will also be used for the Ministry of Health to have more vehicles in their vehicle pool to use to reach affected hotspots (the red or orange zones) so that their staff are more efficient in carrying out their duties.

It is good that many of the Malaysian automotive industry players lending a hand in these times of need. We too can do our part by staying at home. And not go on some mountain climbing trip or jungle trekking trip during this Movement Control Order period.

You need to stay home to show good example to others. If one person were to actually go out and say that he is keeping a distance from others at, say a park, many others will have the same impression and also do the same thing. What happens to the park then? It gets full of people and you think that people will not cross paths? They will and then you have more chance of spreading the virus to others.

Stay and home and be good. There are so many things you can do by yourself actually. Learn to cook, sew. Do online shopping and maybe buy a model kit and assemble it. So many things actually.
