Hello again folks! Another video, but this time it isn't featured on Motoring Malaysia's YouTube Channel. It is currently featured on Land Rover Asia Pacific's YouTube channel and this is where I got to try out off-roading and on-roading in the 2019 Land Rover Discovery Sport and the 2019 Range Rover Velar SUVs over at the recent Malaysian leg of the Above & Beyond Tour.
The 2019 Above & Beyond Tour is where Land Rover and Range Rover customers get to experience the Land Rover/Range Rover SUVs in realistic (but controlled) situations. In the video, you get to see first hand how the instructors teach me on the equipment inside both the 2019 Discovery Sport and 2019 Velar.
You can see me use the All Terrain functions in full and see that both of these SUVs still have more than enough grunt to tackle off-roading even with their factory fitted on-road biased tyres. The cars are simply amazing. The Discovery Sport is amazing but the Velar is an even more special creature. So pliant in terms of how it rides and how refined it is inside. Of course, it costs over RM500K here in Malaysia whereas the Disco Sport only comes in at a 'mere' RM370K. Blame it on import taxes of course.
But all in all, both of these vehicles are stupendous pieces of off-roading machinery. The Velar is stunning to look at and quite marvelous to drive. You can tell the extra money spent by Jaguar Land Rover in making this more refined, ride better and handle better. This on a cosseting ride. It isn't that the Disco Sport is hard riding...it isn't! It is just better in the more expensive Velar.
Do watch the video as while I did make the video out of pure passion. You know I always strive for the best (even with my limited budget) and you can see it in the video.
Oh, do share the video on your social media channel if you have one (Twitter, Facebook etc) as it may help me win some camera gear from Land Rover APAC. It could make my videos better and you guys get to watch better content than what we have now!
By the way, this video has also been picked and featured on DRIVETRIBE's Off-Road Section. If it is good enough to be featured there! You should watch it!!!
