People seem to really like the Ford Ranger. Sime Darby Auto ConneXion (SDAC), the sole distributor for Ford in Malaysia, had announced that all 19 units of the Limited Edition Ford Ranger Splash had been pre-booked ahead of the Lazada 11.11 Shopping Festival on the Ford Official store on LazMall. It also shows that people are willing to book their new cars through an online portal too.
According to Syed Ahmad Muzri Syed Faiz, Managing Director, Sime Darby Auto ConneXion,“The runaway success of the recent collaboration with Lazada demonstrates how fully Malaysian consumers have embraced eCommerce. It is also a proof point of the on-going strong demand and consumers’ confidence in our ‘Built Ford Tough’ Ford Ranger. This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the support of our customers, and we thank you all for that.”
He also said that SDAC believes that customers are looking for unique experiences and exclusivity in their vehicles so this 19 unit Ranger Splash which comes with slightly different livery from the norm is special enough to warrant pre-bookings, and because of the strong demand, those wanting to buy slightly more unique Ford vehicles can look forward to more exciting programmes in the coming future.
This is actually the first pickup truck to be sold via eCommerce and the first vehicle in the country to be sold via “Chup Dulu”, which is a Lazada promotional mechanics that allows buyers to reserve
their product ahead of the shopping festival. Note that somehow they have chosen dates like 11.11 which is somewhat unique.
Under Lazada's “Chup Dulu” mechanics, customers were able to pre-book their Limited Edition Ford vehicle from 28 October until 10 November ahead of the 11.11 Shopping Festival.

100,000km, whichever comes first and five years free maintenance or up to 100,000km,
whichever comes first.
