The New (for the 2020 Model Year) MINI Clubman has been launched here. This refreshed Clubman is about three years from the initial introduction of the unique six door MINI. It comes with a new transmission system and more equipment with even more connectivity for this digital age. This latest MINI model adds to the range and offers station wagon type of motoring to the picture.
In a nutshell, the new MINI Clubman takes after the current MINI family styling which features a redesigned radiator grille, new LED headlights and fog lights. New is also the Indian Summer Red colour for the exterior which will have its colour tone vary according to the lighting and how light hits the car. There are more elegant interior accentuations and as stated earlier, a higher level of connectivity that is unparalleled in the compact premium segment. The Clubman now sports the new generation MINI Connected also features a built-in 4G SIM technology that maximises safety and convenience while on the road.
In terms of its powertrain and drivetrain, the new MINI Clubman features a new Seven-Speed Dual Clutch Sports Automatic Transmission powering the front wheels. Here, there is only one variant which is fully imported, the Cooper S variant, and this has a 2.0 litre MINI TwinPower Turbo engine that produces 192 hp and 280Nm of torque, enabling 0-100kmh in 7.2 seconds. It also has a a top speed of 228km/h while consuming 6.2 litres of fuel per 100 km of travel and 141 g/km of CO2 emissions.
As stated above, this offers those who want to have a larger MINI (ah, the irony..a large MINI) with a lot more practicality (six doors) but do not want the extra ride height of the MINI Countryman. Personally, this would suit those that will not compromise on handling even though he or she may want extra space for a small family. So the Clubman Cooper S will offer somewhat traditional nippy, sporty handling without the added ride height.
The New MINI Clubman comes with the MINI 4 Years Unlimited Mileage Warranty with Free Scheduled Service and its retail price (on the road for personal registration, without insurance) is RM 298,888.00.

Exterior Styling
Arriving in the iconic MINI sporty style, the New MINI Clubman expresses a distinctive new
design that is stylish, individualistic and exclusive. The New MINI Clubman features hallmark
brand elements, such as the domed bonnet, the circular headlamps – outlined in Piano Black –
and the hexagonal contour of the newly designed radiator grille which now extends across the
entire bumper.
The modified headlamps also give the New MINI Clubman a characteristic frontal appearance.
The new LED headlights and fog lights feature LED modules for enhanced brightness in both
low and high beam. A white ring of light surrounding the headlamps serves both as daytime
driving light and turn indicator. The powerfully modelled contours and a new structure for the
air inlet now give the New MINI Clubman a distinctive appearance as well, which is further
emphasised with a dynamically elongated roof line and a steep rear for a compact sporty look.
The laterally opening wings in the rear makes the New MINI Clubman the only model in the
compact segment to feature six doors, along with outstanding versatility offered by the fully
extendable luggage compartment that expands from 360 litres to 1,250 litres. With the MINI
Yours offering, the New MINI Clubman will be fitted with 18-inch light alloy wheels in the MINI
Yours British Spoke Two-tone design.
Engine and Transmission
The New MINI Clubman arrives in the Cooper S variant, sporting a 2.0 litre MINI TwinPower
Turbo engine that produces 192 hp and 280Nm of torque, enabling a century sprint in just 7.2
seconds. The New MINI Clubman can also reach a top speed of 228km/h while consuming 6.2
litres of fuel per 100 km of travel and outputting 141 g/km of CO2.
The engine is paired with a new Seven-Speed Dual Clutch Sports Automatic Transmission that
provides fast gear changes, a high degree of shift comfort and optimised efficiency. The
transmission is operated via a newly designed electronic selector lever which returns to its
original position after changing between driving mode, neutral position and reverse mode. The
parking lock is activated by pressing the P button and SPORT programme can be activated by
shifting the selector lever to the left on driving mode.
Additionally, the electronic control system of the transmission offers increase in efficiency via
multiple progressive functions, such as the Start/Stop function that avoids unnecessary fuel
consumption when stopped at junctions. The coasting function is also available in both the MID
and GREEN driving modes for the New MINI Clubman, where the drivetrain is disengaged as
soon as the driver removes their foot from the accelerator pedal. This allows the MINI to roll
along at idling speed – free of any engine braking effect and at minimum fuel consumption.
Interior Fittings
The New MINI Clubman features the sleek MINI Yours Walknappa Leather steering wheel,
complemented by the MINI Yours Walknappa Leather Lounge Carbon Black seat upholstery.
The seats also feature the iconic Union Jack motif on the headrests, giving the interior a
recognisable MINI touch. Further enhancing the lighting and ambience of the New MINI
Clubman is the MINI Yours Interior Styles illuminated in Frozen Blue. This includes
illuminations for the door bezels, the all-round cockpit bezel, the cockpit trim and the centre
console trim elements – designed to harmonise in matching colours.
The interior of the New MINI Clubman is accentuated with the MINI Yours floor mats featuring
black piping and aluminium-coloured seam patterns, along with the exclusive MINI Yours
design label on the side windows. The New MINI Clubman also offers a premium music
experience in the form of the 12-Speaker Harman Kardon Sound System, exclusively
customised for the New MINI Clubman to offer powerfully precise bass and sound quality at its
peak.
Connectivity and comfort.
The latest introduction to the New MINI Clubman includes a high resolution 6.5-inch MINI
Navigation System with a touch screen display, giving the owner easy access to a wealth of
navigational information within reach. The New MINI Clubman is complete with the advanced
MINI Connected with built-in 4G SIM technology, offering maximised safety with the Intelligent
Emergency Call and MINI TeleServices.
The current update of the MINI Connected app furnishes owners of the New MINI Clubman
with an exceptionally wide range of digital services such as Concierge Service, Apple Carplay
and MINI Online that allow mobility planning to be integrated seamlessly in day-to-day digital
routines. The app also enables sending navigational information from smartphone to vehicle
and receiving departure information as well as the MINI Remote Services – which displays
vehicle location, fuel level and other vehicle status details on their mobile devices. The function
also allows quick activation of the headlight flash, horn, ventilation and door lock/unlock
function.
Exterior colour offerings of the New MINI Clubman include the Indian Summer Red, New
