MAZDA6 Updated for the 2020 Model Year - Prices Start at RM173K Onwards With Three Variants Offered

The MAZDA6 has been updated for the upcoming 2020 Model Year (which starts sometime in the 3rd quarter of this year onwards actually). As such, the new 2019 Mazda 6 which is sold in Malaysia by Bermaz now comes equipped with some enhancements to its driving dynamics as well as to comfort and other equipment inside.

The MAZDA6 is currently fully imported (CBU) from Japan and is available with three engine choices here. These are the Mazda6 SKYACTIV-G 2.0L & 2.5L (both petrol powered) and SKYACTIV-D 2.2L (diesel powered). All variants sold here are front wheel driven and paired with Mazda's SKYACTIV-DRIVE 6-Speed Automatic transmission with Manual Shift mode.

There are 7 colour options available. These include Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray, Deep Crystal Blue, Sonic Silver, Titanium Flash, Jet Black and Snowflake White Pearl. Prices start from RM 173,659.00.

The new MAZDA6 now comes equipped with G-Vectoring Control Plus (GVC Plus). The original G-Vectoring Control, the first technology in the SKYACTIV-Vehicle Dynamics series, was the world's first control system to vary engine torque in response to steering inputs in order to provide integrated control of lateral and longitudinal acceleration forces and optimize the vertical load on each wheel for smooth and efficient vehicle motion.

The GVC Plus system basically uses the brakes to add direct yaw moment control for further enhanced handling stability. As the driver steers out of a corner by returning the steering wheel to the center position, GVC Plus applies a light braking force to the outer wheels, providing a stabilizing moment that helps restore the vehicle to straight line running.

The system realizes consistently smooth transitions between yaw, roll and pitch even under high cornering forces, improving the vehicle's ability to accurately track sudden steering inputs and crisply exit corners. In addition to improving handling in emergency collision avoidance manoeuvres, GVC Plus offers a reassuring feeling of control when changing lanes on the highway and when driving on slippery road surfaces.

MAZDA CONNECT Infotainment (shown with Apple Carplay® and Android Auto® feature)

Inside, the MAZDA6 now also receives Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto® as standard. It is accessible via its MAZDA CONNECT Infotainment display. With the increase in popularity of smartphones from Apple and Android, customers can now experience more seamless connectivity – by accessing integrated apps such as Waze®/Google® Maps, Spotify®, and other phone functions.

All new Mazda vehicles registered from January 1, 2019 onwards will have 5-Years Manufacturer Warranty + 5-Years Free Maintenance (except Mazda BT-50) according to manufacturer’s standards inclusive of labour, parts and lubricants. Both Manufacturer Warranty and Free Maintenance have a coverage period of five years and a mileage limit of 100,000km, whichever comes first.

One of the nicer looking and nice handling Japanese D-segment sedans sold in Malaysia is now a better proposition than ever.
