Volvo Car Malaysia, together with their latest appointed dealer, Motion Beyond, has officially opened Volvo Setia Alam. This is the latest Volvo 3S centre (Sales, Service, and Spare Parts) for the Volvo car brand and it adds more customer coverage in the Klang Valley (or Greater Kuala Lumpur) area.

Strategically located at the border between Shah Alam and Klang, Volvo Setia Alam is strategically located in bewteen Shah Alam and Klang. It definitely adds more customer coverage for Volvo and it should make ownership of the brand a better experience for the people in the area. The new 3S Centre is also fully compliant with Volvo’s global showroom identity and service standards (it has 3 service bays aside from its showroom space as well as a fully functional Scandinavian styled customer lounge). Volvo Car calls this the Volvo Retail Experience (VRE) standard. This is Volvo’s customer-centric and Scandinavian-inspired approach of selling cars. It is what the 'Made by Sweden' tagline stands for we presume.
This new centre affirms Volvo Car Malaysia’s commitment to better service its customers by expanding its dealer network and put in place measures to improve overall customer experience. This was explained by Lennart Stegland, Managing Director of Volvo Car Malaysia recently. The latest Volvo Car transformation plan was to ensure their customer experience is improved in tandem with the company coming out with their latest super innovative cars and SUVs.
“Since we started the transformation plan, we have seen a tremendous upvote from our customers based on the surveys conducted. As a people-centric brand, this is an important indicator that we are heading in the right direction,” said Lennart Stegland.
Volvo Car Malaysia currently has 11 dealerships across the country with 5 servicing customers within the Klang Valley. Volvo Car Malaysia intends to secure more locations throughout the country in 2019, especially in areas where it is not represented. All of these is to make the brand as competitive or even better than what the other offerings in the premium segment are dishing out.
“The most important thing for us (Volvo Car Malaysia) is to secure competent dealer-partners that are passionate about the brand and ensure that they are consistently representing the brand in the right way. This is our promise to our customers,” added Stegland.
This is definitely the way to go into making the Volvo car brand to what it was a couple of decades ago (here in Malaysia). It was the go-to car brand for the middle and upper middle class in many ways. These days, especially with their current line-up of super innovative vehicles, the brand is back, but the folks in Volvo Car Malaysia knows that to win the hearts of Malaysians require a winning customer experience aside from having superb vehicles.
In terms of why Setia Alam was chosen as Motion Beyond's new Volvo Car Centre, Mr Joshua Lee, Managing Director of Motion Beyond said, “Both Klang and Shah Alam are matured townships with great market potential for luxury car brands. We are happy to be a part of the Volvo Cars and we are confident that Volvo’s new model line-up will appeal to this demographic,.”
In terms of experience, Mr Lee has close to 15 years of experience within the automotive industry and is also a respected figure in the Setia Alam area. It makes sense for Motion Beyond to set up an operation in an area where the management team feels confident in doing so.
Volvo Setia Alam showroom opens from 9:00 am till 7:00 pm from Monday to Saturday and from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm on Sundays and public holidays. The service centre opens from Monday to Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and closes on Sundays and public holidays.
