Today I attended the prize giving ceremony for the winners of the recent Perodua Service and Win Contest at Perodua Sentral in Petaling Jaya. The lucky winners won smartphones, a holiday trip, TVs and the best of them all, won a brand new specially decorated Perodua Axia. All they had to do was go service their car at an authorised Perodua service center to win!
Mr Mohd Saipol Kamal Nor Izam Mohd Saad who hails from Ipoh was the lucky grand prize winner. He just sent in his Perodua Alza for servicing and look what it got him - a new Perodua Axia. A total of 90 prizes were given to winners of the competition. The winners were selected randomly via a software programme to ensure that no favourites existed. Contests like this is a good way to entice customers to keep servicing with the authorised service centers.
The Perodua Service and Win contest, was held between April and June this year, was a collaboration with Petronas Lubricants Marketing (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd who is the official vehicle lubricant supplier for Perodua’s after sales business. The contest saw 37,600 participants with a total 1.26 million litres of lubricants sold within the three (3) month contest time period. Quite a remarkable number in terms of volume.
Now a bit on the sales figures - Perodua delivered over 137,200 vehicles between January and August this year. This is an increase of 2.6% compared with 133,700 Perodua vehicles sold at the same timeframe last year. It is nice to hear that even in tough times, where loan approval rates are now only about 50%, sales performance figures are still on the increase for Perodua.
But knowing Perodua, they are not resting on their laurels. Whilst their current line-up is pretty solid in terms of sales, they are continuously improving their line-up. It would also seem quite true as the Myvi has been around on its current platform for about 12 years already (the current generation Myvi is a reskin of the major sort but it is still based on the original Myvi Platform). We've heard that the new one is in the pipeline already because of this.
Stay tuned.

Perodua Alza landed Mohd Saipol Kamal Nor Izam Mohd Saad, (33years) from Ipoh a
brand new specially decorated Perodua Axia as he was named the Grand Prize
winner of the Perodua Service and Win contest here today.
The Perodua Service and Win contest, which was held
between April and June this year,is in collaboration with Petronas Lubricants
Marketing (Malaysia) SdnBhd who is the official vehicle lubricant supplier for
Perodua’s after sales business.
“This contest saw 37,600 participants with a total
1.26 million litres of lubricants sold within the three (3) month contest time
period,” Perodua Sales SdnBhd Managing Director, Dato’ Dr. Zahari Husin said.
A total of 90 prizes were given to winners of the
competition. The winners were selected randomly via a software programme to
ensure that no favourites existed.
“That being said, I wish to thank our customers for
choosing Perodua for your vehicle serving needs. In fact, between January and
August this year a total of 1.39 Million intakes registered within our service
outlets throughout the country,” Dato’ Dr. Zahari Husin said.
Coming to the end of the year, Perodua expects to see
a total of 2.05 million intakes this year from 2.03 million intakes recorded
for the whole year of 2016.
On the sales side, Perodua delivered over 137,200
vehicles between January and August this year. This is an increase of 2.6%
compared with 133,700 Perodua vehicles sold at the same timeframe last year.
“This achievement was done despite the very
challenging market and we would like to take this opportunity to thank our
business partners, the media and especially our valued customers for their strong
support,” Dato’ Dr. Zahari said.
“Allow me to once again thank Petronas for your
support of this programme and we look forward to working closer with you in the
future,” he added.
In May last year, Perodua and Petronas Lubricants
Marketing Malaysia, a subsidiary of Petronas Dagangan Sdn Bhd, has signed an
agreement whereby Petronas Lubricant would be the sole supplier of Perodua’s
after sales vehicle lubricants.
To further add to that partnership, Perodua and
Petronas have moved a step further by creating a contest to promote both our
service centre’s capabilities as well as Petronas Lubricants’ outstanding
products.
“To our customers, please visit our social media
portals, which are our Facebook page, Instagram and even our official website
for ongoing promotions as well as contest for attractive prizes. Or we welcome
you to walk into any of our sales or service outlets to learn more about what
we have to offer,” Dato’ Dr. Zahari said.
