Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM) has launched a new Mitsubishi Triton pick-up truck variant - the Mitsubishi Triton VGT AT GL. It is priced at RM103,800.00 (Peninsular Malaysia GST inclusive but without insurance) and is supposed to cater for those who are looking for an affordable pick-up truck to use.
The Triton VGT AT GL is based on the slightly more basic VGT AT and it comes standard with a Double DIN audio system, 4WD, automatic climate control. MMM has tarted up the looks of this new variant with a dark chrome grille up front, side steps and 16inch alloy wheels. It also comes fully equipped with modern safety features - There is Active Stability & Traction Control (ASTC) system, Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA), Active Stability Control, Traction Control and Hill-Start Assist (HSA) and Trailer Stability Assists (TSA).
It is powered by a Mitsubishi 2.4-litre MIVEC turbodiesel engine with Variable Valve Timing and a Variable Geometry Turbo (VGT), it produces 181 PS of power and more importantly, 430 Nm of torque.
As with all Tritons sold here, it is imported from Mitsubishi's plant in Thailand and comes with a 200,000km or 5 years warranty.

New Affordable Triton Auto Variant Available
Kuala Lumpur, 6 September 2017- Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia (MMM), the official distributor
of Mitsubishi vehicles in Malaysia, introduced a new Mitsubishi Triton VGT AT GL variant today.
The Triton VGT AT GL is based on the Triton VGT AT variant and is made to cater for those who
seek for an affordable pick-up truck for daily usage.
The new variant comes with 2-Din Audio, 4WD selector and automatic climate control.
Aesthetic wise, the Triton VGT AT GL comes with front dark chrome grill, side-step and 16’ inch
alloy wheels.
Priced at RM 103,800.00 the Triton's status as an all-rounder is sealed with a warranty that's
unparalleled in the segment. It's the only pick-up* truck boasting a 200,000 km or 5 years
warranty for ultimate peace of mind (*Up to 2.4L category).
As before, all Triton models are imported as a Completely Built-Up (CBU) vehicle from Mitsubishi
Motors’ global production hub in Thailand.
The Triton is powered by the latest 2.4-litre MIVEC turbodiesel engine with Variable Valve
Timing technology. Coupled with Variable Geometry Turbo (VGT), it produces a strong 181 PS of
power and 430 Nm of torque.
This is achieved through MIVEC’s finer control of the engine valves for improved performance,
while lightweight aluminum alloy blocks keeps weight to a minimum. This modern powerhouse
also uses a timing chain for lower maintenance costs and a longer service lifespan. It also boasts
minimum levels of noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) for a comfortable drive and further
enhancing the Triton’s car-like refinement.
The Triton is also nimble in the urban jungle with best-in- class turning radius of just 5.9m.
Safety wise, the Triton comes with Active Stability & Traction Control (ASTC) system, a safety net
that assists in keeping the vehicle in control during over-steer and under-steer situations or
slippery and rugged conditions, by maintaining traction.
The strong chassis of the Triton also helps to ensure better drivability and greater durability with
day to day usage heavy loading (tested up to 1-tonne) on rough terrains providing greater
assistance to those who are looking for greater workhorse usage.
