Ford Ranger awarded ASEAN NCAP Grand Prix Awards for Best Adult Occupant Protection for Pick-Up Category

The popular Ford Ranger pick-up truck has recently been awarded the ASEAN NCAP Grand Prix Award 2016 for ‘Best Adult Occupant Protection for Pick-Up Category’. Ford Ranger achieved the highest 5-star safety rating in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) among all pickup trucks being tested by the ASEAN New Car Assessment Program (ASEAN NCAP) earlier this year with the strongest evaluation score in the segment of 15.45/16 points.

I like the Ford Ranger (3.2 Wildtrak pictured above). I personally like how refined the drive is for a Pick-up truck. There are tons of equipment inside as well as safety equipment which I think is important in pick-up trucks. Why? Pick-ups have a higher center of gravity and a very loose rear when empty due to having heavy duty leaf springs which work well when loaded. You need balance in such pick-ups. The Ranger is well balanced.

No surprise to me that it was the pick-up truck awarded with the ASEAN NCAP award actually.

In Malaysia, Ranger’s safety package is unmatched, with up to six airbags including dual

front, side and rear curtain airbags. Ford’s Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and ISOFIX

child safety mounts also come standard, making Ranger the only pickup truck in Malaysia to

offer these two important safety features across all variants. All Ranger variants in Malaysia

also feature driver and front passenger seatbelt reminders.
