Honda Civic Type R revealed at the 2016 Paris Motor Show - Based on the hatch with production scheduled for 2017

Honda has revealed the CIVIC TYPE R concept car at the 2016 Paris Motor Show. It is based on the current and just launched Honda Civic Hatchback. What this new Type R is seen to have is a continuation of the current Civic Type R 2.0 turbo - a whole lot of aero addenda and that 2.0liter VTEC Turbo engine.

The 306hp 2.0liter turbocharged engine is expected to gain a little more horses once the car is officially launched sometime next year. Aside from that what you see in the pics could be what you get - a very aggressive styled bodykit, aero bits and that huge looking rear wing.

The current Civic styling is taken up a notch. The hatchback variant is also a little more proportionate than the sedan version which we get (in 1.8liter n.a and 1.5liter turbo variant). It looks properly sporty even without that huge goalpost wing. Like the current Type R, it should get the JDM fans drooling.

Now what is surprising about the Civic Type R is that it is a global model built in Swindon, England that will be sold everywhere - from the United States, Japan and anywhere else where there is demand. Even Japan should get it from this plant.

But this is just a preview. The production ready version is only due next year. Wait awhile longer Honda fans.
