Honestly, there are tons of awards for everything out there. There are awards for the Best of, the Worst of in every darn field you can think of. I searched on Google for the BEST UNDERWEAR AWARDS and lo and behold - the INTERFEEL AWARDS - "A selection of worldwide recognized professional of the intimates, swimwear and sportswear industry will reward the know-how and collections of Interfilière Shanghai exhibitors" came up. Wow. An award for Lingerie. So anyway, BMW just won something called the CarIT-(magazine) Award 2016 in the "Connected Car" field for their Remote Control Parking System in the BMW 7 Series.
You know the key in the new BMW 7 Series is super canggih (or very high tech to those not familiar with local slang). BMWS says
"The Remote Control Parking option allows the car to be driven into and back out of garages or perpendicular parking spaces without a driver at the wheel. This enables drivers to make use of even very tight spaces. The system is activated by the driver using the likewise newly developed BMW Display Key and executed in a semi-automated process by the car, while the driver stands outside, watching out for obstacles. The whole parking procedure is monitored by the Park Distance Control (PDC) system, the Parking Assistant and the Surround View sensors. To activate Remote Control Parking, the car just has to be positioned centrally and squarely in front of the selected parking space or garage. The BMW 7 Series driver can interrupt the progress of the car into or out of the space in a controlled manner at any time."
All from their key unit. This reminds me of the time when the BMW 750I that James Bond used. He could steer the car from his then Ericsson 'smartphone'. But this is with a tiny electronic key fob thingy. So much tech. I am impressed with this luxo-barge even though it somehow lacks the road presence of its closest and more natural rival, the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
But you can tell your friends that my BMW's key is more canggih that your Mercedes okay.

Munich. A jury of experts have endorsed the innovative power of BMW. Technologies which were given their debut in the last year were eligible for the CarIT-Award 2016 presented by German specialist magazine “CarIT”. And the Remote Control Parking system, which celebrated its world premiere in the new BMW 7 Series, was crowned the winner.
