Truck News: VISTA 2017 -18 - The Global Competition For Technicians of Volvo Trucks and Volvo Buses Is Now Open For Registration

The registration for the world´s largest (after sales) service market competition, VISTA* is now open. The VISTA 2017 - 18 is expected to receive participation from over 18,000 technicians, from Volvo Trucks and Volvo Buses global dealer network.  One key purpose of VISTA is that it aims to attract and maintain skilled technicians through teamwork and competence development. Competing against each other and a chance to further oneself as well as the chance to compete against others at a world finals would be a very good way on how technicians can gauge their accomplishments.

Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Sdn Bhd (MBM) has announced an additional authorised dealer partner, Auto Commerz Sdn Bhd, at the launch of the interim Mercedes-Benz Auto Commerz Autohaus located in Setapak, Kuala Lumpur. Auto Commerz, is a company that is part of the Swire Group and together with MBM will be investing over RM10 million over the next two years for the building of a more permanent Mercedes-Benz Auto Commerz Autohaus which will be located in the same vicinity as the interim one.

Happenings: Two Malaysian Children Entered The Toyota Dream Car Art Global Contest 2017 Finals With One Garnering A Silver Award

UMW Toyota Sdn Bhd (UMWT), the official distributor of Toyota in Malaysia would like us to announce that two young and bright Malaysian children were selected out of 830,000 entries from 79 countries all over the world in Toyota Dream Car Art Global Contest that was held in Japan recently. 7 year old, Miss Choo Han Yean, and Miss Lim Xiao Yun, 11 years of age (who won the silver award) were selected after the Malaysian round and represented our country over in Japan, doing us proud.

BMW Group Malaysia have announced the introduction of the BMW Oil Inclusive Program for all BMW vehicles which have already lapsed in their service programs. This new service program allows BMW owners / customers to extend the service programs of their vehicles within a set number of years or mileage period, with a choice of 5 Years  / 60,000km or 5 Years / 100,000km; whichever comes first.

Kaspul Anwar bin Abdul Karim who drives for Prifaria Sdn Bhd has been crowned the champion in this year's Malaysian leg of the Volvo Trucks Fuelwatch Challenge 2017. He will be headed to Sweden for the World Finals and will be going against the best from all over the world in one, if not the most popular annual truck drivers competition throughout the world. Second place went to En Firdaus bin Salim from Swift Logistics Sdn Bhd and third place, to En Ahmad Sulaiman from Konsortium PD. 

Happenings: UMW Toyota Motor CSR Initiative Has Recently Planted Nearly 100 Trees As Part of its Green Wave Project

UMW Toyota Motor, the official distributors of Toyota here in Malaysia has been quite active in giving back to the society. They have recently continued their annual Green Wave Project recently in collaboration with the Majlis Perbandaran Subang Jaya (MPSJ) and the residents of that community. Together, they have added more greenery to the area by populating the Kebun Kominity (Community Garden) with nearly 100 types of trees of various species.

New 2017 Model Year Subaru BRZ Now On Sale In Malaysia -

Motor Image Malaysia, the authorised distributor of Subaru vehicles here has officially launched the 2017 Model Year Subaru BRZ. The most interesting fact about this new and slightly revised BRZ is the price and the fact that you can now get it with a 6 speed manual transmission. The OTR price inclusive of GST but without insurance is RM224,389 (manual transmission) and RM230,749 (automatic transmission). The price is interesting because it has been revised and is slightly lower than what I remember it to be. So a great big WooHoo!!!! is in order.

I was privileged to attend the official unveiling of Ferrari's fastest and most powerful production model to date, the Ferrari 812 Superfast, earlier today. The car is stupendous. It is powered by a new 6.5-litre V12 engine, up from the 6.3liter version used in the F12 and this new engine makes  that unleashes 800ps and a massive 718Nm@7,000 rpm, a significant 80% of which is already available at 3,500 rpm, improving both drivability and acceleration throughout the rev-range. 

NAZA Kia Previews the All-New Kia Rio over in East Malaysia, Starting with Kuching, Sarawak

Recently, Naza Kia, distributors for Kia vehicles in Malaysia, introduced the all-new Kia Rio over in East Malaysia beginning with Kuching, Sarawak (at the Viva City Mall). This was done just a few weeks after the Malaysian official launch of the Rio. The reason why Naza Kia has chosen to do a proper launch event over in Sarawak is that there has been increasing demand for Kia vehicles over in East Malaysia especially their SUV models. So while the Rio isn't a SUV, it is a decision by the company to showcase the brand with the launch of the Rio.
