Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur introduces the new Aston Martin Vantage for the Malaysian market

Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur earlier today officially launched the new Aston Martin Vantage in Malaysia. This is latest generation of Aston Martin's sports car and it is the fastest Vantage to ever roll out of the Gaydon facilities to date. The new Vantage combines a finely-tuned front-engine with a race honed rear-wheel drive chassis to achieve what Aston Martin believes is the perfect balance of power and handling. Of course, this is until they come up with another Vantage a few years from now. But, aside from engine performance and handling, one must always consider the fact that sometimes, we want an Aston for how it looks and the new Vantage is a looker. .For a mere RM2,370 million with taxes, and a 3 year factory warranty which is able to be extended up to two decades, it could be a value buy, relatively speaking, of a lifetime.

Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur Introduces Malaysia to the World’s First Super Tourer - The DB12

Yesterday, Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur previewed the DB12 Super Tourer to members of the media, and before we start with the usual details and specifications of the car, I have to say the DB12 is a stunner. In terms of its styling, it takes the best of the classical Aston Martin styling cues and wraps it around a very modern GT styled body which looks better than the one it replaces by a fair bit. I think that grille up front says it all.

Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur Launches their Latest SUV - The DBX707

The Aston Martin DBX is Aston Martin's SUV. Now, in its latest revised for 2022 form, it makes its ASEAN appearance here in Kuala Lumpur in its latest form, the DBX707. This range-topping hand-built DBX has been made better according to Aston Martin and adds more driving pleasure as well as performance to the mix.  The DBX707 gets the AMG derived 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 which generates 707PS and 900Nm of torque but what's new from this upgraded DBX are notably some chassis improvements, a 9 speed DCT transmission and carbon brakes.

Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Gets its Malaysian Launch

The new Aston Martin DBS Superleggera has been launched here in Malaysia. Aston Martin has revived its 'DBS' moniker with this car (first used in 1967 with the Aston Martin DBS) as well as using the 'Superleggera' name which pays homage to the innovative lightweight construction methods pioneered by Italian coachbuilder, Touring. Truth be told, it does deserve both iconic names, as the new DBS Superleggera is indeed drop dead gorgeous.

The New Aston Martin Vantage Has Been Unveiled in Kuala Lumpur - Prices Start at RM1.6 Million Onwards

The new Aston Martin Vantage has finally made its way to Kuala Lumpur. The evocative name was first used in 1951 on a high-output engine option for the DB2, and many years after that, the 'Vantage' moniker was quickly established as a model in its own right. So now, this newest Aston Martin Vantage carries on the name and the heritage.

Supercar News: Aston Martin DB11 unveiled ahead of its launch at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show

Photos of the upcoming Aston Martin DB11 have found their way to the internet. I do not think these things are leaked just a day or so prior to the car's official launch. It comes from the manufacturer one way or the other as it becomes too much of a coincidence as everyone seems to leak something just before a launch of everything these days.

ASTON MARTIN DB9 GT BOND EDITION ....and a little bit on what happened to Aston Martin in Malaysia

Well, here is something that any secret agent, much less the most famous in the world, would never been seen in. The Aston Martin DB9 GT Bond Edition has been launched celebrating the release of the upcoming James Bond movie, Spectre.
If you were a spy, you would firstly be inconspicuous and understated when undercover. This one is ostentatious and flamboyant. And if you are called Mr. Bond, it calls unwanted attention to yourself. A spy driving an Aston only works in the movies. Obviously.

Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur Opens Its Doors...And It's About Time!

We now can tell the rest of the world that we now have Aston Martin in our backyard. Aston Martin has finally landed officially in Malaysia with the opening of its new showroom in Petaling Jaya earlier today.

Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur is run by the Berjaya Group via Jelita Seleksi Sdn Bhd and a collaboration with Aston Martin Singapore who basically owns the rights to distributorship in Singapore and Malaysia. Nothing out of the ordinary as they've had this arrangement worked out years before anyone thought about it. So kudos to those involved.

Aston Martin V12 Zagato - Too Much Like A Nissan? I think so too.

Do you think the new Aston Martin V12 Zagato looks too much like the Nissan 370Z or the Nissan GT-R? I do. It basically shows that Zagato these days are running out of ideas. Take a look at my posting here over at MyAutoblog.org. There are comparison photos for you to decide. I already have.

Mobiado-Aston Martin Concept Phone

It doesn't work yet, according to gsmarena.com. But it begs a few thoughts by yours truly.

"Anyway, it can display maps showing stuff from Foursquare and with cameras integrated to the future Aston Martin the occupants in the car can take photos of themselves inside the car and post it on Twitbook or Faceter. Imaging twitting “Driving the DB10 today, boy I feel good.” to all your slightly poorer social networking friends out there. Oh, the envy."

Read more about this concept phone here. Posted on myautoblog.org.

The similarity between the Aston Martin Virage and a Daihatsu

The new Aston Martin Virage. A whole new car? Or a slight chassis mod with a new badge? Does it worry you? It doesn't worry me one bit as Toyota/Daihatsu does the same stuff albeit on a cheaper price range. But is it becoming for a company like Aston Martin? Maybe not. But for me the real problem is driving one to the country club and people stare at you thinking that you still can't afford that higher priced DBS or that you're plain cheap.

When a Key is Not a Key or When an Automatic is Called Something Fancy

Yes. We have a key called an 'Emotion Control Unit" by Aston Martin and now Lotus calling the Automatic gearbox an "Intelligent Precision Shift" in the new Evora IPS. It is basically an automatic gearbox. The people in marketing have decided to crack their heads over something so mundane as a normal torque convertor type automatic transmission because they did some tweaking here and there.

Now as a result of this, I hereby declare that the driver's side door of any car be called ........
“The Gateway Towards Speed, Power and Glory”

This makes perfect sense doesn't it? Click here to read the article I wrote for CarThrottle.com.

How to choose a car like you're James Bond......

Mr Bond, I've been expecting you.” I think this must be one of the most remembered line from the movies. The other would be “I love the smell of napalm in the morning.” But that is another matter as right now I just want to share with you how you should choose cars according to rules laid down by the everyone's favourite super spy, James Bond.

The cars have to have a certain criteria. Firstly, if you go by the fact that he's working in an agency (MI6) the car would be a company vehicle. But as we all know the agency he works for does espionage as its core business, the vehicles are a means to an end; i.e. a form of transport for travel, to tail a suspect, to escape from enemies and to seduce women (if the opportunity comes). So, while an Aston Martin is what is usually issued by Q branch when good ol' James goes on assignment it isn't always the car he uses. In some cases where he has to fly somewhere on short notice or where there isn't an MI6 office to procure an agency car from he has to make do with rentals. Notice that in Casino Royale he drives a Ford Mondeo and in Quantum of Solace he makes do with a Volvo S40 and some 4x4s too in a few Roger Moore movies. So the rules for cars used by James Bond would be as follows:
