Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur Opens Its Doors...And It's About Time!

We now can tell the rest of the world that we now have Aston Martin in our backyard. Aston Martin has finally landed officially in Malaysia with the opening of its new showroom in Petaling Jaya earlier today.

Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur is run by the Berjaya Group via Jelita Seleksi Sdn Bhd and a collaboration with Aston Martin Singapore who basically owns the rights to distributorship in Singapore and Malaysia. Nothing out of the ordinary as they've had this arrangement worked out years before anyone thought about it. So kudos to those involved.

Anyway, Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur intends to start things rolling by selling ten, yes ten units this year and open its servicing garage to the hundred or so Aston Martin that have been brought in privately over the past few years. Another reason why Aston Martin has decided to open up is the fact that it intends to provide peace of mind to Singaporean owners who regularly drive through Peninsular Malaysia. With Aston Martin Kuala Lumpur they can now get their expensive machine serviced or repaired. It also allows Malaysian owners who wish to get their Aston Martin serviced by an official outlet the chance to do so locally.

Those that intend to buy an Aston Martin would see prices starting at slightly over a million Ringgit for the entry level V8 Vantage, right up to an eye popping two over million Ringgit for the last of the line Aston Martin DBS pictured above. And no, the newly launched Aston Martin Vanquish only made an appearance via a picture. As did Mr Bond during a slideshow presentation by Aston Martin Global Sales Director, Andy  Gawthorpe.

Those that want their Astons to be even more special, like having the leather seats match the colour of your favourite necktie can do so. Aston Martin can deliver a Made-to-Order vehicle for you via their personalisation program which is pretty extensive. This would mean an extra four months or so for a personalised Aston Martin to be completed and if you are a little bit mad, you could get them to specify a pink exterior coupled with a yellow coloured ostrich leather interior. Now that would be a totally bespoke Aston fit for Lady Gaga that would take nine months to a year to complete.

No. There were no pretty usherettes or a gorgeous emcee to look at this time. I mean for Godsakes! Aren't the Aston Martins enough?

...And finally, an ORIGINAL Aston Martin Vanquish S makes a guest appearance. It looks utterly muscular and brutish in real life. I'd have this anytime over the new one which seems to have too much aerodynamic addenda tacked on until it slightly detracts from the shape of the car.
