Now while we are still facing the Movement Control Order (MCO) scenario which is needed to fight against the Covid-19 coronavirus things must still be launched and news must still be forwarded. Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC), the chaps who are the distributors of Ford here in Malaysia has announced that the 2020 Ford Ranger Raptor has been launched here. It features more additional equipment like Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) with Vehicle and Pedestrian Detection, Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Warning and Assist. This makes the high performance pickup truck even better than even. DNA, the Ranger Raptor sets a new benchmark for off-road speed and capability.
Especially in this region where we don't see many 5.0liter V8 pickup trucks!
This makes Malaysia's first and only premium performance pickup better than ever. The additional features that you will find in this new 2020 Ford Ranger Raptor include an additional USB charging port on the rear-view mirror and LED projector headlamps for greater visibility while driving at
night. Of course, as stated in the opening paragraph, the Ranger Raptor has more active safety equipment packed into its performance oriented chassis.
The upgrades are as follows:
Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) with Vehicle and Pedestrian Detection designed to detect pedestrians as well as vehicles in front of the truck and alert drivers with an audible warning. If drivers fail to react, the system automatically applies the brakes to help mitigate potential rear-end collisions and road-traffic collisions with pedestrian.
Forward Collision Warning, which detects a potential collision triggering an audible warning to drivers. The system also automatically pre-charges and increases brake assist sensitivity to provide full responsiveness when drivers apply the brakes.
First in-class Lane Departure Warning and Assist. The system vibrates the steering wheel to alert drivers when they unintentionally move out of their lane, while Lane Keeping Aid helps steer the vehicle back on track if drivers do not react.
Basically no other high performance pickup has the features mentioned above. But then again, there are no other high performance pickups sold in Malaysia. This actually is the best, and only one actually. But then again, no one sells such a fantastic pickup truck here but SDAC-Ford.

This is currently still the only only factory-built performance truck for high-speed off-roading sold in Malaysia. It is powered by a 2.0L Bi-Turbo diesel engine and is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission . The powerplant makes 213 PS and an impressive peak torque of 500Nm. This is in a pickup chassis so it is mighty fun if you think about it.
The Ranger Raptor has performance FOX Racing Shox dampers and a Terrain Management System (TMS) that offers six modes, including the Baja Mode to deliver truly high performance, the Ford Ranger Raptor is calibrated to push the limits in technology, innovation and driving excitement. It even has 850mm water wading capability to boot.
The New 2020 Ford Ranger Raptor is priced from RM208,888 (on-the-road, without insurance) and is available in four colours – Ford Performance Blue, Conquer Grey, Absolute Black and Arctic White.
As regards the current Movement Control Order (MCO) period where all SDAC Showrooms are closed making it hard to order a Ford, Syed Ahmad Muzri also said, “During the Movement Control Period, customers who have purchase enquiries on the New Ford Ranger Raptor may converse with us digitally via our newly launched Digital Salesperson, a WhatsApp Live Chat.”
The ‘Digital Salesperson’ seeks to address customer queries relating to a vehicle purchase, including queries on products, ongoing promotions, and vehicle price list – even throughout the current Movement Control Order period
It acts as a channel to link customers with an authorised Ford salesperson nearest to them, who would be able to advise on stock availability, in-showroom promotions, loan financing options, road tax and vehicle registration fees as well as insurance options via WhatsApp, Email or by phone call.
