MBM Resources Berhad Donates RM300,000 to Support The Ongoing Fight Against the Covid-19 Outbreak



MBM Resources Berhad (MBMR), the company that has its hand in various segments in the automotive industry here in Malaysia recently announced a RM300,000 medical donation to support the country's public healthcare system in the ongoing battle against the novel coronavirus COVID-19. MBMR to those who are not aware are the folks behind Perodua, Daihatsu Malaysia, Hino Malaysia and various other inter-related companies who are actually quite bit in our industry.


The notable contribution to the Ministry of Health was channeled to Sumbangan Perubatan Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM) - which means Medical Contribution (Fund) for the Ministry of Health Malaysia. The contribution will go towards the purchase of medicine, medical equipment and other medical necessities to ease the increasing weight experienced by hospitals around Malaysia. We all know basic consumables like face masks, surgical gloves and protective over-garments are being used more than usual and these cost money.

“These two weeks has seen a shocking rise in the number of COVID-19 cases in Malaysia; our public hospitals have been working overtime and are experiencing a shortage of medical supplies. The gravity of this situation cannot be overstated and as a socially responsible corporate citizen, it is our duty to aid the nation as much as we can. We hope our contribution will, in some capacity, provide the much needed supplies and alleviate the challenges faced by healthcare practitioners,” said Datuk (Dr) Aminar Rashid bin Salleh, Chairman of MBM Resources Berhad.

Datuk (Dr) Aminar also took the opportunity to thank the front liners and also said, “We cannot fight this battle alone. The health and safety of our country depend on each and every one of us to do our part and in that spirit, we urge the rakyat to do theirs by staying home. On behalf of my team at MBM Resources Berhad, we would also like to take this opportunity to thank all medical personnel for serving the country in this combat against COVID-19.”

“Our heartfelt appreciation also goes to other frontliners involved in this crisis including the police, army, immigration, local authority personnel and others.” added Datuk Dr Aminar.

In compliance with the government’s Movement Control Order (MCO) and in support of a safer Malaysia, MBM Resources Berhad has suspended operations of its trading and manufacturing divisions and has extended a work-from-home directive, where applicable to the relevant employees. 

During this period, the administrative office is closed however the management office is still contactable via contact@mbmr.com.my. Operations will resume upon the ending of the MCO.
