Carlist.my Presents New Services - Book From Home Your Car and Future Used Car Video Listings

The folks at Carlist.my has announced two new services that they have developed in order to continue serving our customers and consumers. This has some benefits as they improve online vehicle searches (used and new) from the comfort of one's home here in Malaysia. This is especially more relevant in line with the semi-lock down nature we are currently facing due to the Covid-19 pandemic the country (and the world) is currently facing.

If not I wouldn't be bothered to actually cover this story actually. Anyway, the folks at Carlist.my also face the full brunt of the pandemic and Movement Control Order (MCO) as their business and their business partners - the used car industry notably, as social distancing takes place over everything else including car sales. So being one of the larger players in the automotive industry, Carlist.my feels that there should be a new way to promote and sell cars.

To address this problem, Carlist.my is helping to drive car bookings through a new product called “Book From Home”.  This is another online car vehicle booking service offered and should be more relevant for smaller dealerships and used car dealerships who prefer to use an independent platform to secure online sales.

A car buyer can search for the best deal on a new car from the comfort and safety of home. Once they decide on an offer, they can then pay a deposit through an online gateway. The car buyer is then guaranteed this deal on the car, which will be delivered after the loan is approved and any business restrictions are lifted.

Carlist.my stated that they will be launching “Book From Home” soon so keep an eye out on their website - Carlist.my, duh, when it happens.

The second area of focus by Carlist is that they have been working on having more interactivity to their vehicle listings. At the moment most of the listings are image or photo based but they have been adding video listings in a trial phase. Currently, there are more than 3,000 video listings and growing in their Malaysian and 1,500 in their Thailand classified sections. Indonesia will be following suit soon. So instead of just some static photographs, you can now see the car in moving pictures. Quite novel.

Mr. Hamish Stone (pictured at the beginning of this article), the Managing Director and CEO of iCar Asia Limited (owner of Carlist.my) said, “During these challenging times we are committed to continuing to support the automotive industry by offering and developing the best solutions for our customers and consumers. We are confident that the solutions we have put in place plus our pipeline of ideas will help our car buyers, car dealers, clients and OEM’s during this period. We look forward to working closely with them, and together we will get through this.”
