Daihatsu Malaysia Invests in a New One Stop 3S Centre in Ipoh for Their HINO Truck and Bus Sales & Servicing Needs

Daihatsu (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd or Daihatsu Malaysia has been quite busy in the commercial vehicle sector here. With its passenger vehicle investment here in Malaysia essentially run through its shareholding in Perodua, they have focused more on the commercial vehicle sector, concentrating on their small commercial vehicle - the Daihatsu Hijet and also as an authorised dealer for Hino Motors Sales (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (HMSM). It recently  announced its new 3S Centre which comprises of Sales, Aftersales Service and Spare Parts, in Ipoh. As both are Toyota Group companies, this is the synergy they share.

Daihatsu Malaysian has been operating Hino dealerships for the sale and after-sales service of Hino trucks and buses since 2010 and have eight outlets and six authorised service centre, nationwide. With this new 3S centre in Ipoh, the customer service for Hino (and Daihatsu) Trucks and Buses has not only been designed to increase efficiency for all departments but also reflects Daihatsu Malaysia's focus upon delivering quality customer service.

How much more efficient is the new Daihatsu Malaysia Ipoh 3S Centre? Well, previously, the Sales and Services department were located to two different locations, so the new one stop centre makes it easier for customers and also the staff to engage without the need to head over to  the sales or service centres located elsewhere. The new 3S centre has a built-up area of 84,942 sq. ft. and  is equipped with 11 bays and three hoists.

Executive Director of Daihatsu, Mr. Makoto Ogawa, said, “This new showroom is to further help not just on improving the sales numbers but also to enhance our overall customer experience. As some of you may have known, we have come a long way in establishing our partnership with Hino Malaysia.”

“One of the main considerations of this new outlet is to unify Sales and Aftersales service under one roof to form a comprehensive 3S centre. This further solidifies DMSB commitment to strengthen better customer service with not just by offering reliable product, but with quality service as well.” he added.

Aside from that, Ogawa also mentioned in his opening speech that the Culture of Continuous Improvement or KAIZEN within their new workplace environment has been practised over at the Ipoh 3S Centre since August 2018. He said, “I am proud to share that our monthly service intakes have doubled up in numbers and there’s been increased in revenue following the implementation of KAIZEN practices here in Ipoh.”

Mr. Ken Iwamoto, the Managing Director of HMSM also added, “Creating an innovation system needs more than just physical infrastructure. New workplace means new surrounding and environments which indeed will bring the new spirit to all staff. Apart from that, I believe, this new office is to value and cherish partnership. With mutual passion, we can move towards achieving mutual goals,” he said during the opening speech.

The inauguration of the 3S centre was officiated by the Managing Director of HMSM, Mr.Ken Iwamoto, together with management team from DMSB, the Executive Director, Mr Makoto Ogawa, and the General Manager En. Arman Mahadi.
