Hino Launches The New 700 Series, SR1E 6x2 Prime Mover with Lift-able 3rd Axle

Hino Motors Sales Malaysia Sdn Bhd (HMSM) recently launched latest model of their HINO 700 series - the Hino SR1EKRG (SR1E) 6x2 Prime Mover. This new truck is a complete heavy-duty Prime Mover and it is specially designed for the logistics and distribution industry. This is the Japanese company's latest solution to the increasing demands for sustainable and cost-effective means of road transportation.

Answering to the needs for higher standards in the logistics industry, the HINO SR1E 6x2 700 Series Prime Mover is deemed as Hino’s contribution to this upward trend for inceased quality. The Hino SR1E was launched following an extensive analysis of the nature of logistics industry in Malaysia, Hino has developed a comprehensive range to meet the highly diverse transport assignment within this sector.

Major points of the HINO SR1E, a 6x2 Prime Mover is that it fills in a gap in the Malaysian 700 Series line-up. Previously, the Hino 700 series 6x2 was made in Malaysia by re-engineering a 4X2 into the extra configuration. Now, this comes fully built up from Japan. It comes with a 13,000cc 420PS horsepower EURO 3 common rail engine with turbo-charged intercooler and designed for a carrying capacity of GCW 66, 000 kg. It has a 12 speed manual transmission (and two reverse gears) which is robust and reliable.

The lift-able third axle (see the photo above) was also introduced to improve the operational flexibility and it also helps fuel saving  as the lift-able third axle is lifted up during travelling without a heavy load capacity. There is also an electric motorised tilt cabin function so that mechanics do not have to strain themselves when trying to reach the engine underneath the driver's cabin.

The HINO SR1E Prime Mover is also equipped with Antilock Braking System (ABS) which helps the driver maintain control of the vehicle during emergency braking or braking on slippery road conditions. The SR1E is also equipped with full air brake system.

Apart from that, the new HINO SR1E also comes with a set of SRS Airbag that is designed to minimize fatal accident and reduce shocks that may be experience by the driver if any frontal impact collision occurred. Scrutinized to drivers’ comfort, Hino has designed the new prime mover with a High-Functionality and Air Suspension Seat. The three-dimensional seat with a body-cradling form is tailor-made to support driver’s back and reduce fatigue as a prime mover is specifically devised for a long distance trip.

At the launch, Ken Iwamoto, Managing Director of HMSM (above) said, “Hino sees that Malaysia has the potential in developing continuous market field to commercial vehicle industry as the land route and ground transportation is the main distribution mechanism to most of the logistics industry in Malaysia.”

“The logistics and distribution industry is a timeless field of business, where it continues to grow within this advance era, and we, Hino, now presents enhanced tools to meet this demand and we have developed vehicles and solutions to ensure sustained profitability.” added Iwamoto.

Aside from touching on the new features of the new Hino 700 series Prime Mover, Iwamoto also touched on HMSM's focus on improving customer satisfaction and more. According to him,  transporters normally involves long haul transportation which significantly requires reliable performance and also excellent after sales services to avoid disruptions or downtime. In light of this, Hino has produced an entire ecosystem of services that ensure uninterrupted deliveries while improving customers’ profitability.

As for Hino's underlying concern for road safety and continuous improvement in all aspects,  he also touched on the Hino Total Support Customer Center (HTSCC) in Sendayan. At this center, customers and drivers have the opportunity to undergo several training programs that emphasized safety driving skills, safety and eco-cien driving and driver familiarisation to name a few of the courses provided.

Finally, Iwamoto also mentioned that HMSM has been in the commercial vehicle industry in Malaysia for more than four decades. As such, the company works hard to ensure that all their products comply the standards requirement that stated by the government of Malaysia. As Malaysia now implements the B10 Biodiesel program for the transportation sector, he stated for the benefit of all those present (which included a group of loyal Hino customers aside from the media) that all Hino’s vehicles including the new SR1E are compliant to B10 Biodiesel and can run without changes to any component or service interval.

The SR1E 6X2 is priced from RM353,000.00 onwards.
