The Perodua Aruz has been launched. This 7 seater SUV offers tremendous value for your Ringgit as it is priced at Rm72,900 and Rm77,900 on the road before insurance (Peninsula Malaysia) for two variants, the Aruz 1.5 X and 1.5 Advance respectively.
The SUV was launched by the Minister of International Trade and Industry, YB Datuk Darell Leiking as well as the senior management of Perodua. This was an important milestone for Perodua, as this is a new direction for the compact car manufacturer.
This is their entry into the SUV market again after quite a while and a step up in terms of asking price for a Perodua. But with over 2,200 bookings since order books were opened on 3rd January 2019, it seems to be a popular choice. Even prior to its unveiling.
The Aruz is made with 95% locally produced components. It is actually quite an achievement by Perodua. Add the changes they've made to the original Daihatsu Terios / Toyota Rush design, the company has stated that it has pushed quality levels and local vendor as well as design capabilities. If you've read my post on the Aruz after test driving it earlier, I was impressed that the car is actually as good as the Touota Rush that will be sold at a higher price. Perodua has stated that this is also the result of platform sharing - economics of scale helps keep costs down.
The Perodua Aruz is classified as an energy efficient vehicle. 15.6km/liter. It is not a talking car but has Active Safety Assist with pedestrian avoidance. So its still darn good...and darn affordable.
It comes with a 5 year/150,000km warranty.
Other details like the test drivr will be linked later. You can do a search on the website to find it. Just scroll a few pages down.
