The Citroën Grand C4 SpaceTourer MPV is now available in Malaysia. The French MPV has been brought in by Naza Euro Motors Sdn Bhd, the official distributor of the Citroën brand in Malaysia and it is the successor to the Citroen Grand C4 Picasso. With its 7 seats, it is designed with Space, Versatility and Innovation in mind.
The Citroën Grand C4 SpaceTourer is a modern MPV which features a lot of practical features, along with its active safety and other usable technology. It features an airy glasshouse area as well as a panoramic roof. The front windscreen also rises up to the roof and makes the French MPV very bright and spacious as well.
There are directional Bi-Xenon with manual height adjustment up front as well as Daytime Driving Lights and Fog lights up front. 17” Boa alloy rims add up to the unique styling of the C4 MPV.
Underneath the C4 SpaceTourer bonnet is a 1.6 Turbo High Pressure petrol engine which produces 167PS and torque of 240 Nm at 1,400 rpm. The engine is coupled to a 6 speed automatic transmission and official fuel consumption is at 5.8 liters/100km.
Inside the Grand C4 SpaceTourer, the interior premium trim is called Hype Grey. The dashboard features a 12-inch HD color panoramic central display which according to Citroen is the largest in the MPV segment. The large display is complemented by a smaller 7-inch touchscreen nestled underneath which is used to operate the infotainment system (and what you see on the larger display). Standard connectivity for the infotainment system includes Android Auto, Apple Carplay, Mirrorlink and USB.
Other notable equipment includes the automatic electric parking brake, electric power steering, 12V socket in the central storage and rear aircraft-style tables with LEDs.
There are also under-floor compartments, removable central storage box and compartments all around the vehicle. The 2nd and 3rd row seats are also retractable to expand boot volume when needed, from 632 liters original boot space to a very usable 2,181 liters.
A new convenient feature introduced to the Grand C4 SpaceTourer is the motorized hands- free tailgate with height memory which works effortlessly just by placing your foot under the rear bumper to open or close the boot. All of these are useful features in a people carrier.
The C4 SpaceTourer is based on PSA Group's Efficient Modular Platform 2 (EMP2) platform which is designed with safety in mind.The MPV is equipped with innovative driver’s assistance systems such as Active Safety Brake system, Speed Limit Recognition and Driver Attention Alert.
The Active Safety Brake works at speeds of 30 km/h and stops the car from imminent collision, while the Speed Limit Recognition helps the driver comply with the legal speed and reduces the risk of having an accident on the road as it recognizes speed limit signs and gives this information to the driver via the instrument panel.
The Driver Attention Alert is an active safety system in place to detect whether the driver is drowsy whilst driving and will try to assist the driver to stay alert at all times on the road, using sensors on the steering wheel.
Other standard safety equipment are 6 airbags, ABS with Electronic Brake Force Distribution and Emergency Braking Assistance, Electronic Stability Control with traction control, Automatic handbrake and Hill Start Assist function, Interior Child Monitoring Mirror, Driver Attention Alert and 3 ISOFIX mountings on the second row.
