Porsche Asia Pacific Delivers 5,390 Cars In 2017 - An Increase of Nearly THREE Times Compared to 2016!

Porsche have done extremely well in the Porsche Asia Pacific region in 2017. The sports car company delivered three times the number of cars in 2017 compared to the previous year. 5,390 Porsche cars reached customers last year with Taiwan, Singapore and Vietnam as its largest and strongest markets for 2017.

The new second generation Panamera four door coupe has started selling quite well with nearly 600 second-generation Panamera delivered in the Porsche Asia Pacific region. This is an increase of nearly three times compared to the previous year. The also new Porsche 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman also did well, recording an increase in sales of 90% compared to the year before. New models seem to do well with customers usually so it isn't a big surprise here.

Porsche's 'bread and butter' model, the Porsche Macan is the best-selling Porsche in the region, with 2,375 units sold. This is their entry level SUV and its practical performance attracts many to the fold. The larger, and ever popular Porsche Cayenne SUV  continued selling well with over 1,377 SUVs delivered. This is impressive as the numbers were made even though the new, third generation model(above) was predicted to be launched within the year - It was officially previewed at the end of August, 2017.

The iconic Porsche 911 found 367 customers of which many were the higher end variants. It may not seem like many cars, but the 911 is the coveted Porsche of them all. An icon for many and the aim for most fans to eventually get into.

One important fact about 2017 is that Taiwan is included for the final time as a market under Porsche Asia Pacific. From 2018 onwards, Porsche has already formed a new subsidiary in Taiwan to continue growing its operations with its own independent importer organisation as a joint venture with the previous import partner. Let's see where the Taiwan sales numbers will be put under once things are finalised.
Porsche Asia Pacific are definitely pleased with the results for 2017. Who wouldn't be with such improved sales numbers. Now 2018 could be another good year especially with the reception that the new Panamera together with the Panamera Sport Turismo model, and the new Cayenne have been receiving in the Asia Pacific region. There is also a push within Porsche for their hybrid models, which is their latest interpretation of their idea of Porsche E-Performance. This is Porsche's strategic focus of the near future - electrification, digitalisation and connectivity.
In the meantime, we can embrace all the pure combustion powered goodness that they are still producing. Here's to a fabulous 2018 with Porsche, folks.
