Upcoming Events: BMW Cars Are The Official Vehicles for the CIMB Classic 2017


BMW Group Malaysia will be the official car sponsors of the upcoming CIMB Classic 2017. This is the eight year running that the premium vehicle manufacturer are the vehicle sponsors for this golf tournament. The CIMB Classic 2017 this year will include nine Major champions, 10 Presidents Cup team members, 15 players from the top-50 of the Official World Golf Ranking and 18 winners from the recent PGA TOUR’s 2016-17 season. 


Famous entrants scheduled to participate include Keegan Bradley, Stewart Cink, Jason Dufner, Lucas Glover, Davis Love III , Ernie Els, Louis Oosthuizen, Charl Schwartzel and Justin Thomas. Quite an international event I must add.

So if you are into golf and BMW, the CIMB Classic 2017 could be a golf tournament to watch. As for BMWs, the official cars that will be used are the BMW 430i M Sport, the BMW X1 sDrive20i, BMW X5 xDrive40e, BMW 740Le xDrive and the BMW 330e across the greens of TPC Kuala Lumpur. 

Aside from the transportation provided, the all-new BMW 740Le xDrive Hybrid Vehicle with eDrive Technology is the hole-in-one prize at the tournament. This is a 'hole-in-one which retails for RM598,800.00 here.

BMW Malaysia is the Official Automotive Partner for the CIMB Classic 2017 for the
Eighth Consecutive Year.

The iconic style and luxury of the BMW 740Le xDrive, BMW X5 xDrive 40e and BMW
330e Hybrid with eDrive Technology to play pivotal role as official vehicles for the
professional golf tournament held in Kuala Lumpur from 12 to 15 October.

Kuala Lumpur, 9 th October 2017 – BMW Malaysia is once again the Official Automotive
Partner of CIMB Classic. The premium automaker today officially handed over the keys
to a fleet of its industry leading BMW iPerformance vehicles comprising of the BMW
740Le xDrive, BMW X5 xDrive 40e and BMW 330e Hybrid with eDrive technology
vehicles, marking their significance as the official cars for all players, officials, as well as
VIPs at the upcoming CIMB Classic 2017 held at TPC Kuala Lumpur this week.

At the hand-over ceremony, Mr. Han Sang Yun, Managing Director and CEO of BMW
Group Malaysia said, “In the last seven years, our fleet of premium and luxurious
vehicles have been synonymous with the most prominent and prestigious lifestyle events
in the country. The CIMB Classic is the most prestigious golfing tournament in the
country and BMW Malaysia are pleased to have been premium partners of the
tournament from the very beginning, working in tandem with the team to grow from
strength to strength.”

The CIMB Classic 2017 this year will include nine Major champions, 10 Presidents Cup
team members, 15 players from the top-50 of the Official World Golf Ranking and 18
winners from the recent PGA TOUR’s 2016-17 season.

The major winners who have confirmed their participation at the CIMB Classic 2017
are Keegan Bradley, Stewart Cink, Jason Dufner, Lucas Glover, Davis Love III as well
as South African stars Ernie Els, Louis Oosthuizen, Charl Schwartzel and Justin
Thomas who have all had an outstanding season with five victories amongst them,
including a first major win at the PGA Championship and the FedExCup, both which
took place in August.

Other famous names heading to Kuala Lumpur are world number 15 Paul Casey of
England; world 19 th -ranked Rafa Cabrera Bello of Spain; Europe’s Ryder Cup stalwart

Ian Poulter; South African star Branden Grace and this season’s THE PLAYERS
Championship winner Si Woo Kim of South Korea.

Throughout the tournament, BMW Malaysia will also feature the BMW 430i M Sport, the
