Truck News: Isuzu Malaysia Donates an Isuzu ELF NPR 6 Wheeler Truck to the DRB-HICOM University

Isuzu Malaysia had recently contributed a single Isuzu ELF NPR 6-wheeler truck to the DRB-HICOM University, an institute of higher learning which is focued on automotive technology. Mikio Tsukui, Chief Operating Officer of Isuzu Malaysia, presented the medium duty truck to Prof. Dr. Abd Rahni bin Mat Piah, Dean of the Post Graduate Faculty, DRB-HICOM University.

Mr. Tsukui believes that the contribution will further enhance students’ academic experience at the university as it offers them a hands on approach towards vehicle technology. He also mentioned that the contribution will provide students a greater opportunity to understand Isuzu’s latest engine technology. The Isuzu ELF is equipped with the latest Common Rail Engine for the academic use of the automotive students attending Diploma and Degree courses at the university.  It would enable the students to benefit more and bring their new found knowledge when they graduate.

The Isuzu ELF NPR 6-wheeler truck that was donated is equipped with a 5.2 liter engine (150ps/404Nm torque), with 6-speed transmission supported by an Electronic Control Unit (ECU), in addition to a 5.125 final gear ratio to make effective use of its pulling power.

PRESS RELEASE
NEW ISUZU TRUCK FOR EDUCATION ENHANCEMENT AT DRB-HICOM UNIVERSITY

The swift progression of the diesel sector in the automotive industry often leaves many
automotive students baffled in understanding the complexities of the latest engine
technology. This is largely due to the lack of facilities, limited resources and inability for
proper hands-on experience to explore and learn about the system.

To gain in-depth understanding, students require a vehicle equipped with the latest diesel
technology. From there, they can gain greater understanding on various engine systems,
while enhancing their grasp on how these technologies provide fuel savings, durability and
reliability. A greater insight and comprehension on modern engine approaches will result in
graduates who are more knowledgeable and able to suit industry demands as required in
the after-sales sector.

To address this issue, Isuzu Malaysia recently contributed one unit of the Isuzu ELF NPR 6-
wheeler truck to DRB-HICOM University - the country’s leading automotive university. The
unit is equipped with the latest Common Rail Engine for the academic use of the automotive
students attending Diploma and Degree courses at the university.

During the handover ceremony, Mikio Tsukui, Chief Operating Officer of Isuzu Malaysia,
presented the symbolic mock key to Prof. Dr. Abd Rahni bin Mat Piah, Dean of the Post
Graduate Faculty, DRB-HICOM University. Tsukui believes that the contribution will further
enhance students’ academic experience at the university.
“The contribution will provide students a greater opportunity to understand Isuzu’s latest
engine technology, which will in turn be impactful for the automotive after-sales sector in
the long run,” said Tsukui.
