Good news! Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) is pleased to announce that the Volkswagen Polo 1.6 Hatchback is now priced at RM69,888* (*does not include registration and insurance. Applicable for Peninsular Malaysia only) for a limited time and with a monthly loan repayment of around RM737* only.
Equipped with a 1.6-litre 105PS petrol injection 16-Valve Multi Point Injection (MPI) engine and a 6-speed automatic transmission with Tiptronic, the Polo 1.6 comes with a maximum torque of 153Nm available at a low 3800rpm with fuel consumption at 6.3L per 100km
The Polo 1.6 now comes equipped with the new RCD 330G head unit which offers a wide range of connectivity options to the customers with capacitive touch display, single CD player (WMA/MP3 compatible), USB and iPod interface, AUX-IN support, SD card slot, and Bluetooth with MirrorLink connectivity.
This is one of the most affordable and dare I say, the most reliable Volkswagen in Malaysia (aside from the Vento 1.6 which is basically the same car). It has a non-turbocharged 1.6liter engine and a traditional 6 speed torque converter gearbox. I actually like the basic, analogue feel of the Polo. It has all the creature comfort you actually need and nothing more. No electronics and other stuff that could go wrong - my brother in law has a Polo sedan (pre-Vento sedan) which he has been using for a good three years already with no issues whatsoever. And it has that Continental feel in all of its controls. Something which I like to have in a car these days. A feeling of solidity at higher speeds which you cannot get in most small Asian designed hatchbacks.
