New Contest from Proton - Have the longest single/family owned Proton and win the upcoming Proton SAGA!

New Contest from PROTON! Proton is now searching for the longest single owned or family owned Proton vehicle in immaculate condition and with high mileage. The Grand Prize is one of the soon to be launched all-new Proton Saga. There will be ten consolation prizes ranging from refurbishment worth RM1,000 to RM5,000 as well as the winners getting a chance to visit Proton's manufacturing facility.

The contest is open to all Malaysians with a valid identification card and driving license. The Proton car must have a valid road tax and insurance renewed annually since ownership. The Proton car ownership is non-commercial, which means it is not a Taxi and must either be from a single owner, and/or has been used and kept within the family since it was purchased. The Proton car must be roadworthy, well maintained and looks in its original state. The contest period will be from 8th March to 8th June 2016.

To participate, entrants are to submit the entry form, a short written story of the car which includes a memorable photo of the car or a creative submission of a 60-second video. The form can be obtained from selected PROTON outlets or downloaded from the website at www.proton.com. A photocopy of the form is also accepted.

The earliest Proton could be a Proton SAGA with a 1.3liter engine from 1985 (the 1.5liter came a couple of years after). If it is a one owner car the car would be 31 years old. If the owner was 40 years old when he bought it he would now be 71. Of course, if he were older when he bought the car he may not even be around anymore. This is why Proton chose to open up this contest to include family ownership, or from father to son/daughter. Opening up the contest to the second level is good in that there could be a sentimental story about how the car had an impact in the participant's lives. This makes sense doesn't it?
