Yup. Another one where I try to talk about motoring. It is getting better I think!

BMW Group Malaysia Reports Record Sales Numbers for its BMW iPerformance (Electric Powered) vehicles in Malaysia.

2017 will be remembered as the time where hybrid and electric powered vehicles started making major inroads in terms of sales volumes here in Malaysia. The BMW Group Malaysia had recently announced its performance figures for their iPerformance vehicles for the first half of 2017 and they've registered and sold over 2,300 units of their hybrid and electric powered vehicles. These make up the BMW 330e, BMW X5 xDrive40e and the BMW 740Le (which was only recently launched a few months ago) up to the month of June 2017. 

Castrol Malaysia's Castrol Car Mechanic Contest 2017 sees Sangar Ganesh crowned Castrol's Champion Mechanic

The Castrol Car Mechanic Contest 2017 had its finals over at Genting Highlands recently and Sangar Ganesh from ‘Castrol Auto Service Syarikat Seng Hin’ in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, won the title of ‘Castrol Car Mechanic Contest Champion’. Sangar Ganesh, who has been a mechanic for about 18years beat a whole lot of mechanics from all over Malaysia, going through three rounds of skill challenges over a four month period to clinch this tile.

It's back. The Subaru Palm Challenge is back! This is the annual event where a bunch of people place their hands on a Subaru and whoever keeps it on the car the longest, will get a chance to enter the Asian finals in Singapore and go through the whole thing again and win a Subaru. The all-new Kia Rio has been launched here in Malaysia. It is somehow quite surprising that the outgoing model still seemed fresh in terms of styling. But then you realise that the car was first launched in 2011 globally and it is because we only received the facelift model mid 2015. So two years later, we now get the all new fourth generation Rio. This time the car is still fresh from its unveiling late 2016. It is as fresh as how freshly baked bread could be.

I attended a briefing on the upcoming Malaysia Autoshow 2017 this morning. The event, which is organised by the Malaysia Automotive Institute (MAI), the government agency that now charts the Malaysian automotive policies have announced that more than 80% of the exhibition space has been sold and the majority of the mass market brands will be participating . Some of the exhibitors that  have already confirmed their attendance are Proton, Perodua, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mazda, Subaru, Hyundai, KIA, BMW, Volvo, Peugeot, Renault, and Land Rover. 

Perodua records 99,700 vehicles sold in First Half of 2017 - Looks to be on target to achieve 202,000 sales this year

Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd or better known as Perodua sold 99,700 vehicles in the first six months of 2017, an increase of 2.4% compared to the same period last year of 97,400 units; with the PeroduaAxia as the number one model sold for the year so far. All Perodua models were number one in their respective segments with the Axia selling 32,600 units, followed by the Bezza at 28,300 units, Myvi 24,000 units and Alza with 14,700 units. They are still optimistic of achieving our initial sales target of 202,000 this year.
