Volvo Car Malaysia together with dealer, iRoll Ipoh Sdn Bhd, officially opens its biggest to date Volvo Certified Damage Repair Centre in Juru, Penang


Last Friday, Volvo Car Malaysia officially opened their first Volvo Certified Damage Repair Centre in the Northern region of Peninsular Malaysia in partnership with their dealer, iRoll Ipoh Sdn. Bhd. This is Volvo Car Malaysia's newest and to date, largest Volvo Car Damage Repair Centre in Malaysia. Located in Juru, Penang, the facility is equipped with modern and state-of-the-art systems that comply with the latest green technology, ensuring end-to-end high quality body repair and paint service.

Recently, the Volvo XC90 SUV has earned a 2023 TOP SAFETY PICK+ award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The announcement comes after the IIHS strengthened the requirements for its TOP SAFETY PICK (TSP) and TOP SAFETY PICK+ (TSP+) awards.  The new, tougher, criteria demand better side crash protection, improved pedestrian crash prevention systems, and the elimination of subpar headlights from the field of qualifying vehicles and the XC90 midsized SUV was deemed to be one of the safest in its category for all those mentioned above.

Volvo Car Malaysia to Introduce a New Recharge Plug-In Powertrains in its 90 and 60 Series Along with a New Price Point for All its Vehicles




Volvo Car Malaysia recently announced that they are introducing an improved Recharge plug-in hybrid powertrain in all of its Recharge T8 models and that prices for all Volvo vehicles will be adjusted from 1 May 2022 onwards.

This new powertrain provides more electric range, enabling drivers to drive further on pure electric mode. Basically larger batteries for more range and a higher performance electric motor for more performance for all models notably.

Volvo Car Malaysia Launches the Refreshed XC60 SUV


Volvo Car Malaysia has launched the new 2021/2022aa refresh of the Volvo XC60. They call it “the Smarter XC60”, and it comes with added safety features, a fresh exterior look and more integration with Google Services. As cars these days are an extension of one's smartphone, and since people usually end up using Google, this actually makes sense in terms of a XC60 refresh.

Volvo Cars has unveiled a refreshed version of its best-selling XC90 large SUV, the company’s top-of-the-line flagship, adding a newly-developed fuel-saving engine option that marks the next step in the company’s ambitious electrification strategy. The refreshed XC90 will now offer Volvo’s advanced kinetic energy recovery braking system, which is coupled with its existing internal combustion engines to create a new integrated electrified powertrain, under its new ‘B’ badge. A first time on the XC90.

Geely Launches LYNK & CO - Its New Global Car Brand


In some ways this is a surprise. Geely, that Chinese company which owns Volvo Car has now come up with another car brand that will go global. The brand is called LYNK & CO. I wonder if there are any other car companies that have the '& Co' and how are we going to call the car? Just 'Lynk' or do we need to call it 'LynkCo' or 'Lynk & Co'?

The hot Volvo S60 T6 officially on sale in Malaysia and we get a SHORT TEST DRIVE in one



 Volvo Car Malaysia launched the S60 T6 variant of their premium compact sports sedan with a very engaging presentation by Managing Director, Mr Lennart Stegland (pictured above - right and below). This event marks his first official engagement with the Malaysian media and he basically explained to us Volvo Car's Powertrain Strategy. This was partly due to the fact that the path of future Volvo Cars has been chartered for at least ten or so years with their Drive-E philosophy taking center stage.
