The Official Media Release by UMW Toyota Motor on the reports regarding the new Toyota Rush having issues over in the Philippines is placed below. It seems the RUSH 7 Seater SUV is suffering Airbag ECU issues over there. But do not fret, as UMW Toyota Motor has announced that there is no issue affecting our Toyota Rush sold here.

MEDIA STATEMENT:
There has been news reports regarding Toyota Rush in the Philippines recalling its local units due to defects on the electronic control units (ECU) of the vehicle’s airbags system.
UMW Toyota Motor, would like to clarify that the Toyota Rush being sold in Malaysia are not affected by this recall issue.

Anyway, note that our Toyota Rush are assembled by Perodua over here and IF, this is a big IF folks, you will see the issues crop up in the Perodua version of the Rush - the Aruz. We are not hearing that folks, so don't worry and continue buying the Rush here without any concern.
