Industry News - Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Welcomes New Head of Sales & Marketing for Mercedes-Benz Cars


Mercedes-Benz Malaysia had recently announced the appointment of Michael Jopp as the new Head of Sales & Marketing, Mercedes-Benz Cars, Malaysia & SEA II beginning 1st July of 2019. Mr. Jopp’s appointment comes into effect as the incumbent, Mark Raine completes four years tenure in Malaysia who is now based in South Korea where is he is now the Vice President of Product & Marketing at Mercedes-Benz Korea. 



Prior to joining Mercedes-Benz Malaysia, Jopp was with Mercedes-Benz in India, where he was Vice-President of Sales and Marketingfor almost 3 years. During his tenure, Mercedes Benz India topped JD Power’s Sales Satisfaction ranking as well as saw various new digital initiatives being introduced. As VP of Sales & Marketing, he was an instrumental figure in maintaining Mercedes Benz India’s significant lead in the luxury vehicle segment where the premium brand ended 2018 as the country's highest-selling luxury carmaker. This was the fourth consecutive year they had achieved the best selling position over there.

An MBA holder from Goizueta Business School, Jopp enjoys golfing and traveling in his free time. He brings along with him over to 20 years of experience in the automotive industry, mainly helming roles associated with Daimler and Mercedes-Benz in Germany.

So we welcome Mr Jopp to Malaysia and hope that he enjoys his tenure here as well as getting to know the culture, food and people. We also would wish his predecessor, Mr Mark Raine all the best over in South Korea and onwards.
