The Ford Ranger has won another award here in Malaysia. Ford's global pickup truck has been named ‘2019 Malaysia Pick-up Truck of the Year’ at the Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Awards hosted recently in Kuala Lumpur. Sime Darby Auto ConneXion, the sole distributor of Ford in Malaysia beat out the others on the Awards’ criteria, which not only included the Ranger itself, but also criteria such as growth, market share, marketing strategy, selling points and key competitive advantages.
The Frost & Sullivan Best Practices Awards have identified and honored best-in-class companies that have demonstrated excellence in their respective industries. The Best Practices Award won by the Ford Ranger is indeed slightly different compared to the regular automotive type awards. It is more holistic in nature and takes into account what many of us in the automotive industry usually never take into account. Award recipients were identified based on in-depth interviews, analysis, and extensive secondary research conducted by Frost & Sullivan's analysts.

“The Ranger has proven in many ways to be the industry benchmark in the pickup truck segment. Improved efficiency, refinement and a range of smart new technologies have really helped to further widen the Ranger’s appeal in Malaysia,” added Muzri.
The Frost & Sullivan Award is the latest in a string of significant awards and accolades the Ranger has received in Malaysia. The awards include ‘Best Pickup Trucks of Malaysia’ 2019 at the Cars of Malaysia Awards, ‘Pickup Truck of the Year’ at the 2019 DSF.my Allianz Vehicle of the Year Awards (VOTY), ‘Pickup Truck of the Year’ at the 2018 Malaysia Car of the Year (COTY) awards, Gold for ‘Pickup Truck of the Year’ at the Carlist.my People’s Choice Awards & Editors’ Choice Award 2018, and TopGear Chinese Editor’s Choice Pick-up Truck of the Year Awards 2018.
