Hari Raya 2018: Perodua's Month Long Road Safety Programme For Its Staff & Customers - Free Vehicle Checks This 23 and 24 June At R&R Sungai Buloh

Perodua has initiated a month-long road safety programme for its 8,000 strong staff, of which nearly 7,000 are bound to travel to their respective hometowns this Hari Raya season. Aside from that, customers have also been provided Perodua’s Tweckbot mobile car inspection service in Kota Bahru and in Kota Kinabalu a few weeks ago with another one scheduled on 23 and 24 June at the Sungai Buloh R&R stop.

The month-long initiative has been organised to remind road users of basic rules while on the road as well as safety tips that would save precious time and money while making their trips back to their hometowns. Perodua would also like to state that drivers should stay cool, calm and courteous while on the roads.

The safety programme is part of Perodua’s on-going Road Safety Campaign initiative launched in October 2017. This is part of Perodua's five-year safety project aimed at educating the public about the importance of abiding by basic road rules. The main thrust of this programme is to encourage the use of seat belts, turn signals, child seats and for drivers to not use their mobile devices while driving. All of which seems to be a problem which many Malaysian drivers do not seem to use or do.

Internally, Perodua’s safety programme for their staff kicked off a month ago with training by the Malaysian Road and Transportation Safety Association on 15 and 16 May. A total of 69 employees were educated on various safety topics including major causes of accidents and proper vehicle pre-check procedures.

Aside from that, as most of Perodua staff actually ride to work or will be riding home for Hari Raya, the safety programme also carried out free inspections on the 6th of June. A total of 47 bikes were checked, with the owners of those having incomplete or defective equipment told to go and rectify the faults. Yes, not everyone who works at a car manufacturing company owns a car.

And for their customers,  Perodua’s Tweckbot mobile car inspection service had free pre-Raya 50-point checks on 380 Perodua vehicles in total at Tesco Kota Bharu from 12-14 May and at a Petronas station in Kota Kinabalu.

The Tweckbot will be at Petronas Sungai Buloh PLUS R&R on 23 and 24 June for after Hari Raya checks. Well, sometimes, the trip back to where people are based could also be jammed packed and vehicles would also require some TLC.

They will also be offering a 20% discount on parts and accessories to all inspected vehicles that return to Perodua service branches and dealers. Like every Hari Raya season, Perodua gives back to their customers and now we can see that their staff also benefit quite a fair bit too.
