Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia (VPCM) have announced the updated Service Pricing Guide of Volkswagen cars reflecting the zero GST rating which begins today, 1st June 2018. This is in-line with the implementation of zero percent GST by the Malaysian government which has taken into effect.
The service pricing guide is available online at Volkswagen website. This basic guide is meant to assist owners and future owners in understanding the costs of running and maintaining a Volkswagen here in Malaysia. It makes things a little more transparent and easy for those who need to sort out their budgeting before making a decision. It also makes it easier for owners to budget too.
Right now is also a good time to send the car in for a service OR...even buy a brand new Volkswagen. Take advantage of the 0% GST and things are going to come up slight cheaper.
The zero rated GST will be eventually replaced by the previous SST type taxation system, reportedly in September 2018. So there is a few months reprive before things get taxed again. Of course, supposedly things will not be as bad as how traders tax using GST. Let's see.
The Managing Director of VPCM, Erik Winter also encouraged owners whose Volkswagen cars are due for their service to make an appointment at their respective service centres and to take advantage of the 0% tax holiday.
“Our commitment to our customers extends to our efforts in maintaining a strong level of transparency when it comes to owning a Volkswagen car, hence the availability of the service pricing guide,” he said.
VPCM is slowly but surely building up the Volkswagen brand here in Malaysia again. They have been continuously working on enhancing the ownership experience, and part of this initiative was the introduction of the 3-year free maintenance program in early 2018, in addition to the 5-year manufacturer’s warranty and 5-year roadside assistance offered on all Volkswagen models.
