The Proton Iriz has won the Carsifu Editor's Choice Award 2017. Carsifu is the automotive publishing division of the Star Media Group (to put it in simpler terms) and this time around they've decided that Proton's compact hatchback deserves this award.
The Iriz was first launched in September 2014 and since then over 45,000 units of the car had been sold. It had been given numerous awards throughout the years but I believe that ever since Proton rolled out the new enhancements a few months ago the car is now so bloody deserving of this new award. I personally think Proton deserves an award for the Iriz too but I'd say that it would win Best Comeback Car of the Year if there ever was such an award.
The Proton Iriz 1.6 Premium is now a much more complete car with higher than before refinement levels. So it is simply because of this fact (which actually took lots of engineering work underneath) that many of us motoring media agree that the Iriz now deserves the limelight again.
So anyway, congratulations to Proton for winning the Best Compact Hatch category. Well deserved!

PROTON IRIZ AWARDED BEST COMPACT HATCH OF THE YEAR
Subang Jaya, 7 October 2017 – Perusahaan Otomobil Nasional Sdn Bhd (“PROTON” or “the Company”) received another recognition for its Proton Iriz, which won the Best Compact Hatch at the Carsifu Editor’s Choice Award 2017.
The refined Proton Iriz model, which made its earlier debut at the DRB-HICOM Autofest in May 2017, was officially rolled out on 5 June 2017. The event, which was held at Royale Chulan Damansara, Petaling Jaya was hosted by The Star Media Group.
Since it was first brought to the market in September 2014, we have sold more than 45,616 units of the Proton Iriz, making it one of the most popular Proton model since its inception. The Iriz had also bagged numerous awards such as Compact Hatchback Car of the Year and the People's Choice Award at the NST Car of the Year 2014, Best Industrial Design 2015 by Intellectual Property Corporation, Most Affordable 5-Star ASEAN NCAP Car in Malaysia at the ASEAN NCAP Grand Prix Award 2016 and Budget Car Of The Year at the 2016 ASEAN Car of The Year Awards.
PROTON continues succeeding the safety aspects of their customers and being the most affordable 5-star ASEAN NCAP Car in the region, the Proton Iriz for all variants come fully loaded with active and passive safety features.

The new Iriz comes in 4 variants – the 1.3L Standard (MT & CVT), 1.3L Executive CVT and 1.6L Premium CVT, priced from RM43,800 to RM58,800, and available in 2 new colours, Ruby Red andCarnelian Brown, apart from the existing Iriz colours, Graphite Grey, Atlantic Blue and Cotton White.
