Tengku Djan Ley has come out tops at the King of Nations Drift Pro Series Round 6 which was held over the past weekend. Tengku Djan beat out 31 other drivers from countries like Australia, Japan, Indonesia and Thailand in order to secure the top spot in the final round of the competition.
Tengku Djan took first place, with Rysandhy Akbar Rais of Indonesia in second place and Hirohide Tanaka of Japan in third. The King of Nations Drift Pro Series Round 6 took place on the 8 th and 9 th of July at Plus Elite Speedway, and involved a total of 46 drivers from all over the world.
This win is his second win in the two months since his return to competitive drifting. He had only recently won first place in the Drift Competition (Thailand) in May 2017. This was his first drift event since returning to competitive drifting after a 4 year break.
Tengku Djan, who also known as "The Prince of Drift", is a professional, competitive drift racer and 2-time Formula Drift Asia champion. He represents one half of the MaxxOil Drift Team, the other half being fellow competitive drifter Charles Ng from Hong Kong. The two had qualified in first and second place respectively in Saturday's qualifying run. Tengku Djan is also the brand ambassador for MaxxOil Malaysia, who have their MaxxNGo mobile oil change service in and around the Klang Valley. MaxxOil Malaysia has been actively sponsoring Tengku Djan in his racing pursuits. Prior to this Tengku Djan has been racing as part of their circuit racing team for the past few years. The sponsorship works hand in hand - one loves racing, one allows the opportunity to race.
Tengku Djan won the race with his Nissan Silvia Chevy LS7. The car is built up to competition specifications and Formula Drift USA’s regulations and is powered by a Chevrolet 7.0-litre (L). Hence the Chevy LS7 moniker for a Nissan Silvia coupe.
