SHELL MALAYSIA LAUNCHES NEW ‘ANTI-AGEING’ OIL FOR HIGH MILEAGE VEHICLES

Shell Malaysia has just launched a specialised Shell Helix engine oil that can help ‘fight’ the effects of ageing in a car's engine. The new Shell Helix High Mileage 15W 50 synthetic technology multi-fuel engine oil is specially formulated for passenger cars (both petrol and diesel passenger vehicles - not commercial vehicles) with Flexi Molecule Technology to offer customised protection to engines, especially those with more than 100,000 km on the odometer. 

Much like a facial rejuvenation cream that removes wrinkles, scars and blackheads in aged skin, miraculously turning a 55 year old's skin into a more youthful 40 year old (trying to be a little realistic here with our example), the Shell Helix High Mileage oil will offer up to 40% better wear protection to help prolong engine life. It also offers customised protection to reduce oil leaks, remove sludge for longer engine life due to its formulation. So all of the properties that Shell have blended into the oil should help an old engine last longer. So using such an oil may keep the old workhorse run smoother for a while longer.

This has got me quite worked up actually. The old late 1990s Proton Wira that I own has about 160,000KM on the clock and I believe that this is a good test vehicle for this newly launched oil. I shall get the car serviced sometime next month and we shall see how it runs for a few thousand kilometers before I come up with a review on this new product.

In the meantime, the obvious that I wish to state is this. Shell is a long time brand in this country. I do like how they are tackling niches in the market. Old car oil, scooter oil etc. These is why the brand has been around for so long and is trusted by many. 

The recommended retail price of a 4-litre pack of the new Shell Helix High Mileage is RM148 in Peninsular Malaysia and RM150 in Sabah and Sarawak. A 1-litre pack retails for RM40 in Peninsular Malaysia and RM41 in Sabah and Sarawak.

road, there is now a specialised Shell Helix engine oil that can help ‘fight’ the effects of ageing.

The new Shell Helix High Mileage 15W 50 synthetic technology multi-fuel engine oil is specially
